Check model number. if the first 3 numbers are 106. this is a whrilpool made refrig. they have a lot of start kits going bad, It consist of a relay, overload and a relay. you need to replace all three. you can purchase a 3 in1 start kit that will work on all the home refrigs. Check local refrig parts house. usally the small hp kit is fine.

is it frozen up? do you have any air flow thru the air tunnel from the freeze to the fridge? Check your air flow with the door switch pushed in. also check to see if the damper door opens... 1) if it is iced up you have a defrost problem. most likely a defrost timer. Turn off or unplug untill all the ice has melted off the evaporator back of the freezer..plug back in and it will work fine untill the ice builds up again. if this work you do have a defrost problem.. if not let me know and we can go deeper...

SOURCE: refrigerator doesnt get cold enough

If you remove the back panel on the inside of the cabinet then you would be able to check the evaporator coil (cold bit) and see if it is frozen up. If it is then defrost the system and see if you have any improvement. All the things you have pointed out over the compressor is normal, they do run incredibly hot. If you have got the freezer on a very cold setting I would suggest bringing both setpoints to a mid range setting. Check the temp in the fridge by measuring liquid temp as air temp is prone to fluctuate more. If you still have a concern I would suggest contacting a fridge guy to assist you. Hope this is of some if not limited help.

SOURCE: kenmore refrigerator compressor clicking

Relay on the compressor bad.

Try unpluging for 30 - 45 min until the compressor has cooled down then plug it back in. If it doesn't start replace the relay. Most service techs carry a universal relay and wiil put the relay on, if it starts, your good to go, if not, then the compressor is bad.

SOURCE: Refrigerator is running but not cooling

You have a bad compressor relay. to check it you will need a voltage meter. Remove the rear cover and you will see the compressor remove the relay held on by a wire. If the relay sounds like a maraca replace it with part #8201769. If is donesn't sound like somethings broken inside it check for continuity on all 3 compressor terminals ( all terminals should read closed ) now this can go to ways if the terminals read good and the relay is good then the compressor is lock rotor and has to be replaced. Most cases it's the relay Good luck hope this helps

Samsung rb2055sl running warm 55 degrees in refrigerator and 70 degrees in freezer fan is working no ice, way to warm

Is there a clicking noise? Feel the compressor to see if too hot to keep your hand on top. Look ate the frost pattern in rear of the freezer compartment and tell me the results. Several things could be causing the compressor to get hot and not run. Freon leak is one thing that could happen and defective start relay, overload and run capacitor is another. You could also have a defective cooling fan under fridge or inside the freezer compartment

Freezer not cooling

The clicking you are hearing is probably the compressor trying to run but shuts down after the minute. If your refrigerator has a fan cooling the compressor make sure if is running and the coils are not blocked with lint. A warm compressor is a good sign a hot one is not. The compressor start device or relay could be causing the problem.

Compressor is HOT, coil is not warm

Check to see if the fan is running down in the back by the compressor, if it isn't put a small fan back there blowing on the compressor, also make sure the compressor is running you can unplug it and block the fan by the compressor wait a few minutes and plug it back in so you can hear the compressor to see if it is running. if it hums and then clicks you probably have a bad relay and overload assy.

Inside refrigerator strip between the freezer and refrigerator

The condenser fan motor at the back near the compressor is either dirty or not running at proper speeds. Clean the coils for air flow over compressor and if the fan is not running replace the fan.

Fridge compartments too warm

There are several possibilities on your model. Compressor start components and Adaptive defrost Control. I would like you to pull away from wall and unplug , rempove the cover over compressor and feel the compressor to tell me if warm, hot or too hot to keep your hand there, Waiting for your response, Sea Breeze

Refrigerator freezer not cooling or freezing took off back cover. fan operates. compressor is hot, when pluged in humming noise then drops out.

. Cut everything off for a few minutes then turn it back on and listen for a click from the compressor relay as the compressor tries to start.
Is the compressor motor running. If no check starter/overload relay.
Check to see if the condenser fan at the back underneath near the compressor is running. If no check fan.

Are the condenser coils near there warm or room temp. should be warm
