    Hi, i have the same problem with my refridgerator,leaking water, i was told by someone it is a clogged drain hose and to use a hair dryer on it, but reading this solution you are saying to unscrew the back panel in freezer section to access the problem, am i right on this or is there a need to do this?

  • Anonymous Jun 06, 2008

    I tried your recommendation and took off the bottom panel in the freezer section and sure enough there was a block of ice under it plus the drain hole was solid ice too. I did remove all the ice from the freezer bottom and used boiling water to thaw out the drain hole. The water is flowing freely now. There is one question I do have. Could you explain the suggestion for wrapping copper wire around the heater and dropping down the drain hole for me? I have no idea where the heater is. I will reply back in a few days and let you know how my frig is working thus far.

    Hi, I have notice water on the bottom drawers where I kept the fruits and vegetables.  I don't know where is the drain pipe, maybe it is clogged.  How do I undo the clog and where do I open the drain hole? The freezer gets extremely cold even the number is at the lowest level.  Is there anyway to correct the problem. Thanks!

Open the freezer compartment loo for ice build up on floor of frezer especally towards rear behind back panel. sounds like you have a clogged/frozen defrost drain tube. removing back panel of freezer will give you acess to drain trough, melt away the ice with a hair dryer, youll find a drain hole under there somwhere,pouring boiling water down the drain will clear it pretty quickly( i use a steam machine purchased from the infomercials)

Where is the drain hole for this model

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that you are looking for the drain hole on your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# FFHT1725PS, due to water building up on the shelves inside your refrigerator. There technically is no drain in your refrigerator. There is a drip pan, which collects water from the condenser underneath your appliance. There are some possibilities that are causing the water to build up on the shelves. First, make sure that all containers are covered. Condensation can evaporate from opened containers and create water on the walls and shelves. Secondly, make sure that the drawers that have your fruits and vegetables are completely closed and set to the correct setting. Fruits and vegetables are full of water. Thirdly, check to make sure that your doors are closing and sealing correctly. Moisture can come through an open door or a door that is not sealed correctly. Lastly, if it is hot and humid, make sure that you are not going in your refrigerator many times and holding the door open as well. Hope this is helpful.

-Best regards-

Water is getting into the refrigerator. there is

If the fridge has the freezer on top - the problem is in clogged drain under the evaporator.Whenever the defrost cycle is activated (every 6-12 hours), the water will drain not to the drain pan underneath the fridge, but into the air vents between the sections. Depending on the make/model to get to the drain line you may need either:
  • to remove the back cover in the freezer section;
  • remove the bottom of the freezer section;
  • remove the console with controls on the ceiling of the fresh food section
  • get behind the fridge, find the drain line going to the pan under the fridge remove the drain line and clean.
Good luck.

Then get a turkey baster and fill it with hot water. Insert it in the drain in the bottom and squeeze it cleaning the drain. Several applications will solve the problem, and do not forget the freezer side as well.
Good Luck,

I have a roper RT21AKXGW00 refrigerator and water settles in the bottom of it and in the crisper draws, is this some sort of blockage?

I have the same model refrigerator and don't have a solution but I think I have more information on the problem. In mine, water will leak periodically from the condenser leading up to the freezer (inside the refrigerator, at the top, center, back of the main compartment). I have seen it leak and it isn't a constant leak but when it leaks it can pour out at a pretty high rate.
In mine, the water will collect in the deli drawer (near the top), the crisper drawers at the bottom, and under the crisper drawers. When it happens, I use a sponge to soak it up and wring into a bowl.
To minimize the impact, I have set up a cup or dish near the back of the fridge to catch the leak. I empty this every couple weeks or whenever it fills up, but I'm looking for more information on a fix (I think the problem has to do with the condenser - that's the lead I got when I found this post).

Underneath the crispers is full of water sometimes even freezes Underneath the crispers water collects, but it does not freeze.

Here is a link to help you resolve the problem I also have an even better link but on-line is moving slow at moment. Anyway you will need to take the part out from back and clean the blockage., Let me know if this helps, Sea breeze
