if it is not working, please goto acer laptop site http://www.acer.co.in/ac/en/IN/content/drivers
and select your laptop model and download the WEb cam DRIVER and install. It will work.
Please download the file amcap920.zip from http://www.download25.com/install/amcap.html and install the setup.exe. It will create "amcap" in programs. click the amcap. you can see the video from cam.

i have 5520 and it has vista home as well ,i had the same issue ,however once i downloaded the crystal eyam driver from acer then i installed it, if it doesnt turn up on the start menu somewhere, usually labeled crystal eyecam then try searching for it in the search it should be under programs then all you do is click on it ,and it should come up,btw what graphics ard did you install?
Right click on an open space of your desktop. Select New>Shortcut.
When the Create Shortcut window comes up, click Browse.
Double-click "Computer".
Double-click "Acer (C:)" or your C: drive. It may not be named Acer.
Double-click "Program Files".
Double-click "Acer Crystal Eye webcam".
Click "Acer Crystal Eye webcam" next to the small icon. (NOTE: Do not select the one that just says "Crystal Eye". It is only an icon, not the program.)
Click OK.
Back at the Create Shortcut window, click Next.
Type in whatever name you want to give, or leave the default as is.
Click Finish.
Icon appears on desktop. Double-click the icon to begin the program.
well fist the size that it is says is creating the error is interesting. My guess is that the fault is because the picture you are trying to access is actually a GIF. If this is the case many camera software and even some of the graphic software will not read it. Try opening that picture in internet explorer and see what happens. To remove the fault what i would do is erase the picture or move it to another part of your hard drive. That way when you start the camera it will not be looking for that picture but another JPEG.
