You might have to clear the print que or restart the print spooler. Click the link below to see how to do that:

49 4C02 - error

From looking online this message indicates the following: "A critical firmware error has occurred that caused the processor on the formatter to abort operation. This type of error can be caused by invalid print commands, corrupt data, or invalid operations. In some cases, electrical noise in the cable can corrupt data during transmission to the printer. Other causes include poor quality parallel cables, poor connections, or homegrown applications."

The advice for resolving this issue is as follows:
1. Press CANCEL JOB to clear the print job from the printer memory.
2. Turn the printer off and then back on.
3. Try printing a job from a different software application. If the job prints, go back to
the first application and try printing a different file. If the message appears only with a certain software application or print job, contact the software vendor for assistance.
4. If the message persists with different software applications and print jobs, disconnect all cables to the printer that connect it to the network or PC.
5. Turn the printer off.
6. Remove all memory DIMMs or third-party DIMMs from the printer. (Do not remove the firmware DIMM in slot J1.)
7. Remove all EIO devices from the printer.
8. Turn the printer on.
9. If the error no longer exists, install each DIMM and EIO device one at a time, making sure to turn the printer off and back on as you install each
device.
10. Replace a DIMM or EIO device if you determine that it causes the error.
11. Remember to reconnect all cables that connect the printer to the network or computer.
12. If the error persists, replace the firmware DIMM.
13. Replace the formatter and calibrate the printer. See Calibrate now.

Hope this helps.

Hp color laserjet 3000dn getting 49.2 FC6 service error. not printing magenta. got new magenta toner - did not resolve. please advise

Any 49.xxxxx error is a critical firmware error
If power cycling the printer doesn't clear the error, try printing from a different program.
If it works, go back to the job that failed. Print. If the error comes back, that program is hosed.

If the error persists remove the network cable and any cable that goes to the computer.
Remove the JetDirect. Power on. If error is gone, power down and reinstall the JetDirect. Power up. If error is gone, chalk it up to reseating. If error comes back...replace the JetDirect.

If the error continues with the JetDirect removed, there could be a bad memory DIMM or formatter.

Good Luck

4C02 Service error?

49.XXXX PRINTER ERROR

To continue turn off then on

No error message will be in event log.

A critical firmware error has occurred that caused the processor on the formatter to abort operation. This type of error can be caused by invalid print commands, corrupt data, or invalid operations. In some cases, electrical noise in the cable can corrupt data during transmission to the printer. Other causes include poor quality parallel cables, poor connections, or homegrown applications. On rare
occasions, the formatter is at fault, which is usually indicated by a 79 Service Error.

2. Turn the printer off and then back on.

Error message 49 on my HP CP 2025 (printer shuts itself off and truns itself back on to see error message 49)

Firmware error:
1. Press CANCEL JOB to clear the print job from the printer memory. 2. Turn the printer off, and then turn the printer on. You can try reprinting the job to see if it was a temporary error. 3. If error persists, try printing a job from a different software application. If the alternate job prints, go back to the first application and try printing a different file. (If the message only appears with a certain software application or certainprint job, try upgrading the printer driver and / or firmware.) 4. If the message persists with different software applications and print jobs, disconnect all cables to the printer that connect it to the network or printer. Turn the printer off and delete the print queue. Then reboot printer AND computer, reconnect cables, and try printing again. 6. Remove all EIO devices from the printer (JetDirect cards, hard drives, etc.). If 49 error goes away, turn printer off, re-install EIO devices one at a time, and reboot printer each time to determine which EIO device is failing. 7. If printing still fails with all EIO devices removed, remove all memory DIMMs or third-party DIMMs from the printer. (Do not remove the firmware DIMM-- printer won't function without this installed.) Turn the printer on with DIMMS missing. If the error no longer exists, install each DIMM one at a time, turn printer on, test printer. Replace a DIMM if you determine that it causes the error. 8. Remember to reconnect all cables that connect the printer to the network or computer. 9. If the error persists, replace the firmware DIMM. 10. If error persists, replace the formatter.

Printer is on but will not print. Brother HL-2140 laser printer. The print log status reads = Error - Sent to printer.

Hello ,

First, please make sure there is no error message displayed on the LCD screen of the printer

Now we will check the status of your printer in the printers menu in the control panel.
The printer’s status should be set to “ready”
If the printer is “paused” simply clear the print queue, right click on the printer and select “resume printing”.

If the printer says “offline”, follow these steps.
  1. Clear the printer queue
  2. Shut down the computer
  3. Unplug the USB cable from your computer and your printer
  4. Unplug the power cable from the printer and wait 15 seconds
  5. Plug the USB cable back into the printer and the computer.
  6. Plug the printer’s power cable back in.
  7. Turn your computer back on.

Your printer status should be back to ready now and you are able to print.

Thanks,

Pat

Error 49 4CO2 Service Error on a HP Laser Jet Printer 5500 DTN

This is related to the JetDirect Card and the specific print job attempting to print. If JetDirect is 615 or lower slide out JetDirect card and power cycle printer once it comes up o.k power down and
slide JetDirect card back in once the printer is back up look on the display for processing job which may take 5 minutes but it is the offending job trying to print again as it is still in the print que. If you are quick enough you can hit cancel on the display panel to cancel the corrupt printjob and if you are successful then the other print jobs stacked behind it should start printing away with no problem. Hp blames the 49 error on a plethora of problems though mine are usually related to documents using different versions of Adobe and also PowerPoint printjobs that are excessively large as the print spooler cannot handle them but it is always a corrupt print job and once that is cleared no problem. Occasionaly replacing the JetDirect card is required to solve the issue. With the 620 Jetdirect card no need to remove it just unplug the network cable same procedure as above.
