My Sansa M250 was working great for a year, then yesterday the menu button stopped working. Songs play, but I have no menu controls. On/off works, volume works, play/pause works, and back and forward work. Pushing the menu button only lights up the screen. I've tried: taking out battery and installing new one, reformatting, holding down various buttons for 20 seconds.
No luck. Any ideas?

SOURCE: Sansa M250 Rhapsody Problem
Unfortunately you are not going to be able to go online to sync your device...All music subscription such as napster and rhapsody require you to sync your device every single month using their actual software..The reason is to prevent customer from cancelling their music subscription..once you cancel your membership all the songs you have on your device will become useless. In another word, you are renting the music from the subscription company...
P.S.Please rate accordingly...

SOURCE: Sansa m250 won't finish "finalizing update"
I had the same problem with my m250, the PC wasn't recognizing the device nor the connection. So I tried the settings of the mp3. I started by going to the menu, then settings, then USB and then selected MSC instead of Auto Detect. After that, my PC did recognized the device. Hope this helps.

Win XP does not need an addl driver - it should just plug and play; check Sansa's driver page as a precaution:
