Do you get water at the front dispensor, if present? If not check the refrigerator water filter. If you have an RO system feeding filtered water to the fridge, check it's filter. Also there is a solenoid that lets water into the ice cube maker, have a professional check it to make sure its working correctly. Lastly I have had to replace the entire ice cube maker, sometimes they do fail. Replacements can be found fairly easy on the internet.

Water no longer flows and therefore no ice. I've changed the filter. No improvement

Check to see if old ice remains inside the ice slots. If not then fill with tap water and allow to freeze. If after the water freezes and cubes drop into the ice bin you will need to replace the dual water control valve. If ice maker does nothing then the ice maker will need replaced. What is the model number?

Ice cubes are too thin. Making on time, but no volume due to small cubes. What part will correct this?

Well this thing is made to make ice cubes so if the ice cube are to small thin then you water supply must be restricted because its cold enough to make the ice just the volume of water isn't their .Check the feed system for restrictions .

My ice maker makes ice but melts fast

All ice is the same...at or below 32FH is ice, above 32FH it's water
Perhaps your ice maker is making very small ice cubes that melt faster then bigger ice cubes, if so the your ice maker needs to be adjusted too make bigger ice cubes.

I was told that my new refridgerator will come with an automatic ice maker. What does that mean?

These days, modern fridges come with automatic ice makers that are built into the fridge itself. The fridge automatically fills the ice holders with water that then freeze into cubes. You can then tip the ice onto a tray that is removable and then the fridge will automatically re-fill.

I have a whrilpool refrigerater the ice maker will not fill with water?

Bonjour,
Ice makers can clog. The water valve can stick open or closed or even not work at all. The water fill nozzle can clog with ice or food. If the unit has been moved the water line could be kinked or the water filter may be clogged. Maybe the water valve for the ice maker water line is turned off. Is there one under the sink? Inside most ice makers there is a thermostat that tells the ice maker that the water is frozen and it's time to dump the ice cubes. That starts a geared motor running to dump out the cubes. And in some cases a mold heater is turned on to help break the ice cubes loose. A lot of ice makers have a cam attached to the motor that turns with the shaft. When the ice cubes are gone the cam starts a timer to refill the ice maker with fresh water to make some more ice cubes. Most "fill" cycles of ice makers are "timed fill". The fill cycle has to start and stop to get fresh water into the ice maker. There may be another thermostat that monitors the air temperature where the ice maker is mounted. If that thermostat thinks the air is not cold enough to freeze water nothing happens. If all the steps don't happen at the right time no ice cubes are made.

Ice maker makes ice cubes, but the doesn't dispense ice cubes.

If you could observe exactly where the water is dripping from it would help but...If it overfills and drips, look for an adjustment behind the plastic endcover with a +/- on it. - is less water.
If it continuously drips, replace the water inlet valve on the back where the house water supply comes in.
The water inlet valve on the back of the unit where the water supply comes in can have a slow leak and will cause ice to buildup and block the fill tube. Disconnect the ice maker line from the valve and watch to see if it has a slow drip. It doesn’t take much to eventually block the fill tube.

Water is leaking out of ice maker and freezing up where cubes are

Sounds like water valve is not closing all the way after the icemaker calls for water. This is because sediment in water builds up on valve seat therefore letting water pass through. Suggest replacing fill valve. Crescent shaped ice....ice maker on needs 4 ounces to fill icemaker, so any more than that will spill out.

Ice from ice maker does not taste right

Hi

Ice storage bin needs to be emptied and washed. Unsealed packages in the refrigerator and/or freezer compartments may be transmitting odors/tastes to the ice cubes.
Interior of the refrigerator may need cleaning.
Water chemicals. Installing an in-line filter can help with many odor/taste complaints.
An open box of baking soda in the refrigerator section can help with preventing the transmitting of food odors.
This is a common in-line water filter, they are fairly easy to install and usually come with instructions.

Even when your well or municipal water supply provides healthy, potable water to your ice maker, some impurities may remain. These can affect the smell or taste of the ice cubes, and therefore the beverages in which you serve them. A taste and odor water filter on the incoming water-supply line--such as our charcoal "Universal Replacement Water Filter"--can help a lot.

Also, over time, the ice cube bin can absorb difficult-to-remove odors from the freezer. Some manufactures recommend that you replace the bin every 2 to 3 years, whenever it seems to be retaining objectionable odors and transferring them to the ice cubes.

A Fixya Rating would be appreciated.

Thanks
