There is a scratch on the screen and it's getting bigger, well it was scratched now there is a solid colored line. What do I need to do? Is it fixable? It started as a scratch about 1/2 inch now there is a line approximately 2 inches long, it's a green color, but there is a 1/2 inch line beside it that is red. The line run up and down in the center of the screen.

Unfortunately it is NOT a "Scratch"... actually it is one of the "Row Driving IC's" that is failed/failing, this will only get worse and eventually it will get more & more. Worst of all there isn't anything that can be done, sorry.

Getting scratches on screen

Sound like your monitor is about to go out. Try a different monitor to make sure. Borrow one from a relative, friend, neighbor or co-worker. If the borrowed monitor does ok without the scratches and lines, then your original monitor is going bad. If the borrowed monitor does the same thing, then your video card inside the computer is going bad.

How to fix scratches on lcd tv screens what is the best way to fix scratches on a sony kdl52xbr6 tv screen or do I contact Sony directly

If there deep scratches you need to replace the outter layer and that could get expensive. Now if there small scratches a lcd repair kit would work. You can get those on line for the fraction of the replacment of the lcd screen.

thanks

Scratched screen from moving

If you were moved by professionals, perhaps you can file a damage claim?
Both the scratch and the colored lines warrant the replacement of the VERY expensive LCD panel.
Sorry, Mary, but this is not something that you can fix yourself, nor would you want to.

Repaire scratches on a lcd flat screen

The eraser method is even better than I first thought.
I acquired my first scratch some weeks back, tried the eraser method, and was quite pleased with the results, as my scratch was approx. 80% less visible, a faint grey line visible only on very light or dark coloured backgrounds, instead of the glaring black line it was at first.
Today my monitor toppled again (I really must tether the damn thing to something next time) creating - gulp - a new and even larger scratch. Oh, no... But whodathunk I'd end up happy I got the 2nd scratch? Oddly, I am happy, 'cause I took the opportunity to lay the monitor flat, take my white eraser again , and really go to town rubbing both new & old scratches. Lo & behold, both scratches appear to be now virtually 100% invisible or gone. My 2-scratch monitor is better now than it was as a one scratch one! I'm now convinced it's partly, largely, or completely due to the heat from friction of rubbing the eraser across the scratch, plus pressure applied, that does the trick. The heat must soften the plastic surface making it malleable, and the pressure of rubbing smooths out the jagged scratch edges, making the scratches disappear.
-So, if at first your eraser doesn't completely eliminate your scratch, try, try again! Keep working on it - harder!faster! And with luck, you'll get results like mine: complete elimination of two ugly scratches!

Polaroid FLM-2601 flat screen

It has a protective outer screen and depending on the depth of the scratch you might be able to restore it. You'll need to look on-line at a few aircraft site for a kit that is meant to polish scratches from the plexi in an aircraft windshield. There is a company in Oregon http://www.chiefaircraft.com/airsec/Aircraft/Windshields/ScratchRemoval.html
that sells the kit for 34.95....
It is time consuming but I have restored many this way!

Color Photo Conductor Unit

the vertical line that you saw is an indication of either it is normally worn out, or something has caused the scratched, by any material ( PC drum is very sensitive to any material and can easily damaged or scratched any solid and unwanted dirt inside) see you actual meter reading. if it falls on the first thousand copies or print then it might have caused by a scratched, if it falls beyond the PM parts repalcement then there is nothing you can do but to replace this.

sometimes you can swap the colors, by the affected color use the yellow drum unit to the affected drum, the vertical would not that be obvious.

Nec plasmasync 4200w 3 vertical lines one yellow two purple

Sorry to tell you, it is not a scratch, but a bad cable connection from the driver IC's, connecting up the plasma screen to the drive board, or the drive IC for that section of the screen is defective. It is not a repair a user can do as there are no user replaceable parts inside this set. Your going to have to call NEC or an experienced Plasma repair shop.
