Usually the fan if it is, 112/225V. It simply connects across the Line, Phase to neutral, but AFTER the mains switch. So that it is "On" only after the Power has been switched on.

Lincoln electric ac/dc arc welder will not arc

Check the dial indicator. Sometimes if someone changes the amps while welding, there will be a break in the coil. It will work at a different setting as long as you are away from the break.

Whats making the fan on my welder not work

The fan motor has probably burnt out, i see this alot...make sure the connections are good....you can try putting 120v to it directly, if it doesnt run you need a new one...if it does then you need to check all your connections

I took my old one to Grainger and they ordered a new one that is 230V. Total cost of motor and fan $27.00

Welder doesnt turn on...

Have you connected the feed from your breaker box to ADJACENT lugs on a dual pole breaker? By code you must use a ganged breaker.

You should use a voltmeter to verify the plug is getting power on teh desired pins.
