I have an LG tv model 37LC2D. I have sound whether on TV input or playing a DVD, but I have no picture at all. Tried using the various inputs but nothing. Help when it has a picture it is the best picture I've ever seen on LCD
I just had the same thing happen to my tv today. I tried taking cables out and putting them back, different antenna, everything. Finally phoned the LG contact number and they are sending someone out early next week to do a software update - free of charge! They were so helpful on the phone and a pleasure to deal with - even gave me a short term fix: turn tv on; unplug antenna, change the channel then plug the antenna back in ... picture is slowy returning using this solution. I would recommend to anyone with this or a smilar issue to call the customer service line. Big bouquets to LG - I love their products! And their customer service is outstanding!
If not, then I had a similar problem that I posted. I recently got an engineer to look at my TV and they had to replace the main circuit board.
Once they replaced it, everything was fine again, but unfortunately the part alone cost me around £250 ($500) and then there were labour charges on top of this.
LG parts are very expensive apparently.
I'm no expert, but your problem sounds exactly the same as mine. Maybe try describing further - read my post here:

The unit is stuck in standby. Have you tried turning it on manually on the set or changing the batteries in the remote. Does the light flash when you try to turn it on? [email protected]
Double-check your input cables from the receiver to the LG 389. Do you have the sat. receiver AV out connected to the front AV In on the LG DRT389? Make sure that you haven't mixed up the L and R audio connections on either side. (I've done something similar with RCA cables myself.) Next, try a different set of cables.
If that doesn't work, there may be a problem with the audio jacks on either your receiver or the 389. To check, plug the AV cables from the Sat. Receiver directly into the TV. If you have sound and video, then the input jacks on the recorder may be damaged.
Try using another input. (It looks like some models have the SCART input; you may need to set the input source in the menu under AV2 Decoder.)
The fact that you have audio output on USB and DVD's means that cables/connections between the LG289 and the TV are fine.
I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the details of which AV port you are using on the LG389 for additional assistance.
Things to check: Make sure your TV is set to the correct input. I DK about the light flashing 16 times but that could be a stuck key on your remote control. If you can, urn off your remote and try turning on by hand and going through the "INPUT" choices to make sure you have it on the correct setting. BTW, if your TV is 5 years old, you'll make the money back in no tie if you get a new "Energy Star" TV. The new Energy Star TVs run on very little electricity compared to 5 years ago.
connect audio output (RCA Jack white n red color) from the video, to the audio input of your TV. Make sure you use same AV channel for the video and audio. i.e AV1 or AV2 or AV3
Are all other inputs functioning properly? Please test them and let us know. If any others are damaged, then it's probably an damaged circuit of some kind on you TVs motherboard (pricey to fix/replace) But if it's the only malfunctioning input, it could just indicate a damaged, or even dirty port. Try blowing on it with some canned air, and see if that does the trick.
