LG front loading washer is turning itself on,then off

My LG washer began acting funny. In principle it washes normally. However, after use, and after the panel lights turn off (some unknown time after) the washer acts as if the power-on button was pressed. The chimes play and all the panel lights come on. Eventually all lights turn off and the panel buttons become un-responsive. If I pull the power cord and replug it, the washer resumes acting normal. But, eventually it turns itself on again, then powers down and I must pull the power cord and re-insert it.

the other thing you can try is to unplug the washer from the power and hold the start button for 10-15 secs then plug the machine back in

My wm2455h turns on by itself and after some time, it turns off. What is causing this>

It seems that the Main Control Board of your washing machine is playing up. The fact that when you unplug the machine from the mains, the main control board resets itself and you are able to start the machine points in this direction.

The problem may be with the lock itself. Check to see if there is any signs of wear at the lock and lid assembly. Post back your findings and I will look for a service manual for your unit.

Try this first, unplug the unit and connect it to a different outlet and see if it corrects the problem. If it still continues, you will need to replace the control board. Good luck.

Lg washer

funny enough LG water inlet valves are favorite for that problem. if you put the power off and the water still flows into the tub then the valve needs to be serviced. if it goes off when power is switched off but continues to fill after cycle is complete then board needs replacement.
