Vizio P50HDTV Display Problems - Colored Vertical Lines .

A line vertically down the screen (usually bright green) is a failed column strobe. This can be caused by the connections at the top of the screen failing or the strobe chip starting to die.

Random colours can be caused by a cracked screen or a failed video card.

Best to take it to a repair shop for it to be assessed.

Have tech support install a new power inverter for you or the protective sheathing has worn off of the wires behind the screen and the wires are touching and shorting out.  This happens when the wires are not properly routed out of the way when closing and opening the lid.  Over time the excessive crimping wears the protective vinyl off and the wires touch each other.

Does the laptop have integrated or dedicated graphics?
This could be a problem with the graphics drivers. Go to the Toshiba website, and get the latest drivers for you PC, this should solve the problem. If this doesn't solve it, than it looks like the screen / graphics controller / GPU is failing.

The damage could be either in the LCD screen or the connection cable. Open the screen assembly and check the connection cable first.

My understanding is that you have 2 laptops with the same problem, if that is the case, you need to replace the lcd. When you have lines on lcd's, that is a sign of a bad lcd.

what i recommend you to test is to press behind your monitor and see that the line goes off or not.If it does..that mean you have a loose connection,it can be fix.Incase no then you have problem with your LCD.Normally if its LCD problem then you fix this problem,all you have to do is change the LCD.

Check it on External monitor prior to replacing the screen.. If the problems there as well its not the screen..
