Hi! Our FEW 12 machine has not drained so I have manually drained it from the pipe at the back. I think there might be something blocked in the pump. How do I remove the plastic clips that hold it in?...

You don't need to remove the pump (Or you shouldn't have to anyway) Here's a copy of my standard advice for this problem (Most hotpoint machines without a filter access door are covered in paragraph 3)

The empty cycle is timed and if it can't get all the water out in time because the filter is blocked and slowing the empty down, then it will fail safe and won't step on to the final spin cycle with excess water in the drum. Your repeat of the rinse/spin cycle is giving it extra empty time and then the spin works OK.

You need to locate and clean the filter. Depending on the model (not sure which with the model you mention) there is either a round filter cap on the front of the machine at the bottom (It may be behind a small door or hidden behind a clip on panel on the bottom) or, you will need to access the debris trap from the back of the machine.

If there is no filter at the front, pull the machine out and you will see a roughly oval panel at the bottom of the rear of the machine. Unscrew the 3 or 4 screws and unclip. Directly below the drum, you will now see a rubber "Cup" like bulge in the black pipe, with a plastic tube connected to a plastic pipe. The cup is held in place by a large jubilee clip. Unscrew the clip, pull off the rubber boot to expose the debris trap (A conical plastic cage with a ping pong ball in it) Take out the ball and the plastic trap, clean out the debris and replace the trap and the ball (Note that the cage may have a slot in it that locates in the rubber boot, make sure it lines up, or it won't reassemble correctly). Now push the boot back onto the fitting at the bottom of the drum where it came from and tighten up the jubilee clip, making sure that it is fitted correctly (it too may have a small slot out of it that fits around a protrusion on the bottom of the housing).

I have a hotpoint wf740 which has had a bad smell coming from it, i took the front off the bottom, and unscrewed the filter which then snapped when i pulled it off as it was full of coins. (my dad gave me...

I think this is your pump and filter.

I spent a very long time looking for this. I recommend you look in your local phone book business pages for Appliance parts / supply and have your model number WF740 in hand. These complete pump assys appear to be cheaper than just the filter. You can order the new pump / filter assy and just use the filter for now.

Hotpoint wf740 aquarius 1400 v noisy banging during spin = dust

It could be a broken drum restraint spring, or a worn or broken. or loose shock absorber.
To check the springs, remove the top cover, and you will see the springs.
Another possibility is the concrete weight could be broken or loose.
You need to remove the lower rear panel of washer to check the shockers and concrete weight.

Thankyou.

Fitting a new drive belt to a hotpoint aquarius

Remove lower rear panel, tilt washer forward, getting someone to help, and fit belt round motor pulley, then fit belt round drum pulley, slowly turning the drum pulley round as you feed the belt on, it is very tight, and you might think the belt is to small, but this is normal, as the belt stretches, just persist, but be careful you do not trap your fingers. Good luck.

TRhanks.

Hotpoint wf740 washing machine

An F-05 error message means that the pressure switch is jammed on empty or a problem with pump.

The fault is associated with drain out (pump blocked or restricted in some way).

Small panel at rear of machine reveals the pump, pull of the two pipes (Plastic clips hard to get off, slide them sideways), remove wire and unclip pump from base of machine by lifting locking tab and sliding to the left, pump can then easily be cleaned.

Hotpoint WF740 Aquarius Plus Drum Seized.

hi the code will flash that because of the drum being seized in my opinion the bearings have seized to replace them you will need to remove the front of the machine disconnect all the wires from the drum not the machine there are two plastic pegs holding the suspension legs to the drum which you will need to remove. push the pins in at the backof the pegs and pull out the pegs, sorry you will need too remove the two concrete blocks top/bottom first, then remove the pegs lift out the drum remove the fixings around the drum with a t-30/t-40 bit, then split the drum now comes the tricky bit - AT THE BACK OF THE DRUM IS A 13MM BOLT UNDO THIS ONE TAKE OFF THE FLY WHEEL AND THEN REPLACE THE BOLT HIT THIS BOLT AS HARD AND AS CLEANLY AS YOU CAN WITH A LARGE HAMMER SO THE STAINLESS STEEL DRUM COMES OUT THEN YOU NEED TO GET THE OLD BEARINGS OUT THESE CAN BE A PIG SOMETIMES SO DONT GIVE UP THEN REPLACE WITH NEW ONE'S PUT BACK TOGETHER IN REVERSE ORDER.hope this helps if you can think you can do it it's not as bad as it looks ,good luck
