You should probably wait for a few days to ensure it's completely dry on the inside. I have heard other folks suggest that putting the phone in a bowl of white rice for a few days is a great way to dry it out. The rice will absorb the moisture.
Did the case cover the entire phone or just the sides and back like most?
1) Immediately turn phone off by holding down power button and sliding to off. 2) Use canned air duster to blow water out of all holed in the phone such as headphone port, sim tray hole and the bottom port 3) Place phone in sealed baggie containing silica packs (come with shoes/coats, etc) or uncooked rice for at least 24 hrs. 4) In this time, DO NOT try to power the phone on, this can easily cause a short and ruin a phone that may have otherwise survived. 5) Wait 1 or 2 days and remove from the rice/silica which should have drawn out the water. Now try and power on the phone. I have seen these steps save a soaked iphone more than once.
This has been happening a lot with Iphones and also with the microphone input. either u need to update ur handset or revert to see if this is the problem...
Also save all ur info on your computer and do a master restore from the computer on itunes.
Call customer care.....If you are still in warranty Your item can be replaced......I dont think water is the problem because you would have issues with your screen ..I do not sufggest saying that is the reason either because apple does not cover items if it is water damaged.
Go to this specific page to talk with an apple expert. of these problems are not resolved.
When you dropped it you loosened up the digitizer connector which is number 2 under the screen. Open your iPhone and resit that wire firmly back in. That should fix the digitizer not working.
If its a 3G just unscrew the 2 screws at the bottom and use a suction cup to remove the screen. Easy. But if its a 2G then Good Luck.
If your device gets covered in water, act fast and rationally, and you may be able to save your device. 1. DO NOT TRY TO TURN IT ON 2. Pull out the battery. 3. Please your device and battery into a bowl of uncooked rice to absorb any moisture. 4. Please it in a warm, dry place where it can receive direct sunlight. 5. Be patient. It is recommended that you leave it in there for at least 48 hours. 6. After 48 hours, put the battery back in and power on.
