I was given a Brother VX 1120 sewing machine. It is missing the attachment which holds the bobbin, making it unuseable. Everything else seems to work fine. Where can I purchase this attachment?

ono secret
just pull the bobbin thread down the slot in the bobbin holder and under the spring plate
leave about 6 " thread loose and put the bobbin and holder back in the machine
use you hand and turn the machine over a few times and the needle thread will pull the bobbin thread up
or use a bit of scrap material and start a short sew
Install a brand new needle. Make sure it is installed correctly.
Remove the bobbin/bobbin case from the machine. Check that the bobbin is turning the correct direction and the bobbin tension is threaded correctly. Reinstall the bobbin case and confirm that it is latched into place.
Retest your machine. Slowly turn the handwheel and watch the needle descend and see if it picks up the bobbin thread. If not, then there is probably a sewing machine timing issue. Take it for service.
Sue, I will post links below for your manual.

Bobbin in backwards, needle in backwards, needle damaged, needle too small for the thickness of fabric or needle not the correct needle system for the machine are my first guesses. Try a new size 12/80 needle, flat of the needle to the back of the machine, completely up in the needle clamp as a first pass at the problem.
I had the same problem with my brother vx-1120 sewing machine. I set the needle to lowest position by using the hand crank. Then I loosened the knerled set screw that holds needle in place. Then I moved needle shaft till the eye of needle is just lower than the hook on the shuttle loop maker. It made my mechine work. There are instuctions for ajusting timing on machine but I think these mechines are built to not fix and throw out. Just because there where no ajustment marks at all on machine, any machanical machine will needed to be ajusted sometime.
my Brother sewing machine model VX 1120 will not pick up the Bobbin Thread. Machine is fairly new with only several hours use. I have changed needles , tried different bobbins, cleaned the machine. Any suggestions?
