I have searched high and low for instructions on how to change the time on my Timex 1440. It only has three buttons. One is mode, one is start/stop and the other is lap/rst. can you help as all the other watches seem to have four buttons.

Ok - i messed with this forever. i have some solutions, but not all.
* To get it off military time, do this:
while in time mode, hold down the "adjust" button (bottom right) and then press the "mode" button (top left). you'll notice that the "P" below the alarm time disappears and appears, just as the hours switch from military to non-military mode. (best to do this in the afternoon)
* You may find that the date gets weird looking after you mess with the buttons long enough. chances are it switched to European date mode, which places the day before the month (freaks). To switch back, hold down "start/stop" (top right) and then press "adjust" (bottom right).
Now if anyone can tell me how to set the date, I'll be psyched.

Solution 5 worked for me as well!
Uh, yeah, its like, so easy! i have a purple sports timex 1440, and it has: mode, start/stop, set, and indiglo. it just broke at the kroc center. :(
i hope you find it easy. you just have to hold mode down until it blinks. press it again to go to the time. (the first time is the alarm) push start/stop to toggle, push start/stop again and again to go to the date, day, and then return to time. but if you do the alarm, you have to hold mode down again. i hope you can figure it out now.
i wish i could get my watch to work again. too bad it rusted. :(
remember, today is a time machine, what you do today will effect your future!
bye for now!
on wizard101, i am julia watersword. bye!

To set the time, all you need to do is press "set" as well as "start/stop" simultaneously. You need to ensure that you have got both buttons on at the same time and don't release it immediately. Once you press both of these buttons down, you need to keep it this way for at least a few seconds. Then, you will notice that the numbers on your watch face will start to flicker. The numbers that blink should be the numbers representing the seconds.
Once you have the numbers flickering, you can start setting or changing your time. You now have to use the "mode" button to change either the date or time on your Timex WR50M. Adjust the timing as to the number that you want to. Once you have done so, just press the "set" button and your timing and date has been adjusted. The process is really simple, isn't it?
Here is the user manual to the watch (or one very similar). Very explicit eacy instructions.
http://www.sports-watches.co.uk/watch_manuals/5e061.pdf
In this particular model:
1) Holding mode key for 2 secs will enter the adjustment mode.
2) Press mode button one more time to get to "time adjustment", annd then use the "start/stop" and "set" keys to adjust the time as usual.
None of the above worked for me, but did give me the clue of push the button and hold it down...On my watch, you Press and Hold the "set" button top left button. then the hours flash, you can press Indigo to change hours then set. Then minutes, indigo, then set.

then find the Timex module table directions to find the correct manual

Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) is the basis for the worldwide system of civil time. It is
determined using highly precise atomic clocks at time laboratories around the world that are
accurate to a billionth of a second per day. UTC time signals are broadcast via low frequency
signals. Your radio controlled Timex® watch synchronizes its time to the broadcast time signal.
PLEASE NOTE: This product only works in North America.
A. In TIME mode, press and hold SPLIT/RESET. Watch will attempt to synchronize time with
nearest time broadcast and tower symbol will flash in display. This may take up to two
minutes.
B. Watch automatically attempts synchronization at 1:00 am daily and 4:00 am Sunday
local time.
C. Tower icon ( ) appears in display if synchronization has been successful within 24 hours.
TIPS:
WARNING: Depending on your location, the watch may be unable to pick up the radio signal
from Colorado. Synchronization may also not be successful if your watch is near a source of
interference (e.g., computer monitor) or you are in a building with a metal roof. Cloudy or rainy
weather conditions may interfere with radio signal transmission. If synchronization is unsuccessful,
try the following:
• Rotate watch 90 degrees.
• Move to a wall or window facing toward Fort Collins, CO.
• Move at least 2 meters away from any computer monitors.
• Move outside. If it works outdoors but not indoors, you may have a local interference
problem in your building.
If your watch is off by one or more hours: make sure you have properly selected your time
zone (see below). If you are in an area that does not observe Daylight Savings Time (DST),
be sure DST is disabled on your watch.
If your watch is off by a few minutes or seconds: make sure that your watch is currently
receiving the signal (tower icon appears in display).
If your watch did not adjust time for DST, make sure that your watch is currently receiving
the signal (tower icon appears in display).
QUICK START FEATURE: At any time, you can press and hold SPLIT/RESET to force watch to
attempt synchronization.

Usually answered in minutes!
it won't change the time it says it can only be either 5:44 or 5:14 and on my time its 8:18
Mine has buttons, but one is just an indiglo button. I can set the time on mine, but I can't get it off of military time.
can not reset time
i've set the time on this thing once and remember it being a convoluded process... somehow two buttons being pushed simultaneously was involved but i can't find the right combo. To help others out.. here what some of the combos do change:
- hold ADJUST button (alarm time is shown) while holding the button push the START/STOP button to cycle through hourly chime, (little clock), alarm (bell), both, or neither.
- hold ADJUST button again and while holding hit MODE to cycle through military time and regular time.
- hold START STOP button and while still holding hit ADJUST to cycle through european date vs us date.
unfortunately as you can see, i've run out of two button combo's and still no time reset feature... hmmmm.
I'm having the same problem. I just bought the watch and I have the instructions but I still can't figure it out. Help!
wre50M has three switches....can not change to current time...
I just bought the Timex 1440 Sports Watch, and to turn off the alarm and chime, I held down the "set" button (bottom right) and pressed the start/stop button. Repeat.
ya i know its so annoying
how take the pulse? please
I have exactly the same problem. Why so user unfriendly???
With my watch u press the top left corner button until the sec. start to blink. Then with the bottom left button you can change to the time or the date. Last of all, you press the top right button to change the date or time;ect.
As I was searching how to change the time for DST, I somehow got the elapsed time switched to only seconds (instead of seconds to minutes, which I prefer). Any idea how this happened and how I can change it back? Mine is the Timex 1440 wr50m. Thanks!
