My printer print heads are not functioning properly. I replaced both cartridges with Kodak cartridges but the print heads don't seem to be printing. Copies are very light with little color. I tried to clean them with the built in program but it didn't work. This printer has less than average use and isn't very old.

Print heads can become clogged with dry ink, especially if head is left exposed for a long period of time, i.e., no cartridge is in place. You can either have the printer serviced (which will cost a lot) or google print head cleaning. There are several companies which sell head cleaning kits for most printers for about $10. Detailed instructions with illustrations are usually provided. I've done this myself and for $10 was able to repair an old HP deskjet.

I have changed out my black ink cartridge and now it says Attention: Print head loose, missing or not installed correctly.

Had exactly the same issue - working fine until ink cartridge changed (kodak for kodak - not a copy). Then can only get 'print head error message'.
Multiple attempts to remove and re-install, power on/off etc. but can't shift the error message. New print head more expensive than a new printer!

Printer error 3515

Kodak ESP-5 error message 3515....tried Kodak way but didn't work....could hear the print head attempt to move but couldn't...unplugged unit from power....opened to expose the print cartridges...removed small screws on sides and back of printer...gently pry open top....turn gears on right side with finger toward front several turns.....check and see if print head will now move to center....(I removed cartridges and print head so I could see the blotter under print head move to back position. Re-installed print head and cartridges.) plugged power cord back in and turned on...unit cycled and then screen showed normal....replaced screws in top panel.....printed test page...back in operation......Don't be heavy handed....plastic will break very easy I think when opening panel if not careful...

I spoke to Kodak - manufacturers of the printer. They indicated that because their cartridges are cheaper than the competitors, they recommend the printer head may need replaceing, and they recommend it be replaced each time the cartridges are replaced.
They are sending me a relacement printer head, which should solve the problem

I have lines going through everthing i print.I changed the cartridges, deep cleaned and calibrated and still have lines

I own a Kodak 5100 All In One Printer. The print quality is fantastic. The printer features are very good. There is a problem, lines through the prints in my case indicated a failed print head. Kodak has been wonderful in replacing 3 print heads thus far while my printer is under warranty. Be warned, these print heads cost $70.00 each, what you will pay for the head after the warranty expires. In constant communication with Kodak, there does not seem to be a resolution to the high failure incident rate of the print heads. It is a shame that such a great printer would have such a high rate of print head failures.

Kodak Easyshare 5100 Wont Print In Color Or Black

For all of those problems, you need to replace the Printhead. This is one of the most common issues among the Kodak All in One Printers, they simply stop printing text. However, it seems that Kodak is sending out some new printheads that work so much better, so you should get in contact with their support and have them replace their printheads. Call cb_transparent_l.gifus.gifspace.gifspace.gifarrow.gifspace.gifspace.gifspace.gifspace.gifspace.gifspace.gifspace.gif1-800-421-6699cb_transparent_r.gif.

5500 WON'T PRINT BLACK INK

It sounds like the print head is not functioning. If you have taken it out and cleaned it already (the print head) and it still doesn't work you will have to call kodak to request a new print head. They will ship one to you free of charge. If you let them know about how much ink you have wasted from cleaning they will also send you new ink cartridges. They may ask you to perform all the steps from the troubleshooting guides again, just do it again. They seem to follow a script when calling for support so just humor them by doing the same things you have already done a dozen times.
Kodak needs to start selling the print heads at Best Buy right next to the ink cartridges! It seems like tons of people have had the same issues with the print heads.
