Icemaker will not restart

1 Lower the bail wire to turn on the ice maker, and remove the ice bin. Then, using a screwdriver if necessary, remove the ice maker, clean it thoroughly, and then reinstall it.
2If the problem persists, consider removing and replace the entire ice maker and valve. With this type of problem, you can have it repaired, but it's often wiser and less expensive in the long run to replace the unit entirely.

I have a FrigidaireGallery Model FRS22XGCD. My freezer is NOT MAKING ICE. I do have and ice makers arm in the right position. Door water and ice does work. Do you have any ideas for me?

Hello;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

Ok, I am going to give you a series of things to check.

1.) Reach into the back of your ice maker. You have a fill cup and a full tube. Are they filled with ice? If so you have a frozen fill tube. You must remove the ice maker and with a hair dryer clear the tube.
To remove the ice maker:

On the left hand side there are two screws on top - loosen them. On the bottom there is one screw - remove it. There is a conduit connector in the rear - squeeze the tabs to release. Now, lift the ice maker up and pull away from the wall. If the ice maker does not lift out, loosen the top screws a little more.

2.) reach into your ice maker mold (tray) are their any ice cubes jamming the unit? Clear and lift your lever arm up and then down.

3.) Were you getting small ice cubes? And then no ice cubes? This could be a ice maker solenoid valve problem.

This component cost $165.00. You can get It for about 40% less on the internet. Part number 215197400. Purchase locally, Cost $55.00.

4.) You will need a multi-meter to check the solenoid valve. Unplug the unit. remove the bottom cover. You have a duel solenoid valve assembly. On the right bottom is your solenoid assembly. The plastic tubing running up the wall is for your ice maker. With a multi-meter set to the lowest Ohms, disconnect the two contacts on the ice maker solenoid. On the solenoid, use your meter leads on each contact. You should get a reading of '0'. if it is good. Anything other than '0' is bad.

5.) Within your ice maker you may have a bad thermostat.

This component is $62.00.

If your ice maker solenoid valve is good, rather than try to repair your ice maker, you can purchase a ice maker locally for $110.00, or go on line and purchase one for $45.00.

Your ice maker part number is FRS22XGCD0

Why won't the ice maker shut off even when I shut off the switch? The ice maker does not use a shut off arm or lever

Ice Maker Doesn't Turn Off If your ice maker keeps making ice, even when it is full:
1Lift the bail wireto shut off the ice maker, and remove the ice bin. Then, using a screwdriver if necessary, remove the ice maker, clean it thoroughly, and then reinstall it.

I need to thaw the ice that is in my ice maker (Kenmore Elite, 106.56709500), how do I do this? Can I just remove it?

Just get a new ice maker on cheap on ebay since the heating element (for ice removal) on tray will cost more than a new maker!

The ice box on the ice dispenser appears to be clogged so ice cannot be dispensed on either setting (chunk or crushed). How does one remove the ice box front to look inside?

Hello there,
For you to be able to remove the ice maker from the refrigerator, you will have to get a screwdriver and a work glove, then you follow the steps below:
  1. Pull the LG refrigerator away from the wall and unplug the electrical cord.
  2. Shut off the water supply valve to the ice maker by twisting the knob clockwise. The valve is built into the metal or plastic tube that feeds water to the ice maker at the back of the appliance.
  3. Open the freezer door and remove the ice bucket below the ice maker. Set the bucket in the sink for the ice to melt.
  4. Lift the white plastic housing off the ice maker and set aside.
  5. Remove the screws that connect the ice maker assembly to the inside back of the freezer, using a screwdriver and work gloves to protect your hands.
  6. Push up on the ice maker from below to release the mechanism.
  7. Disconnect the wire plug that connects the ice maker to the back of the freezer and remove the entire assembly.
  8. When you are through with what ever you want to do with the ice maker.
  9. Reconnect the LG refrigerator power cord and slide the appliance back to its original position.

Hope this helped. All the best Elect_Comp

Ice Maker is not working on my Whirlpool Gold Refrigerator

I removed six screws from the ice maker to pull it out of the refrigerator.  Their are four screws holding the ice maker in place and two screws on the ice maker door.  Had problems getting the electrical harness disconnected.  Used hot water to removed the ice cubes that were struck in the ice tray.  Poured all remaining water into a bucket and re-installed ice maker.  As of now, the ice maker is making ice !
