D Link home wireless Routers don't really require any setup discs. Just connect the ISP modem to main port on router and the the pc to any other port. Done!

Cannot connect smartphone to my computer via wi-fy

The smart phone should work fine on any wireless router. Try going to wireless settings on the phone and if it has your network remember click and hold on your network and select forget network. This should clear out any thing cached about your network. Once that is done try re-connecting to your network and enter any password you may have.

Laptop stopped connecting via wifi to home network.

The wireless settings in the Belkin has been setup with encryption.
You can restore the Belkin back to the factory default by powering up the Belkin and press the RESET button for 7 secs.
It is not wise to leave your wireless router unsecured, anyone can access your network and Internet connection and use up your allocated download limit. Once you exceed your download limit you could be slug with addition charges - this depends upon your contract with your ISP.
For details on securing your wireless router and configuring the wireless card in the laptop, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-

How do I hook up to the wireless router?

try checking the channel number of communication

check to see if the router has been enable on the broadcasting mode

do check if the router has been configured for WEP or WPA

check to see if the access is based on MAC address on the router

finally place the connection from the modem to the router in the ports numbered 1,2,3,4 instead of the INTERNET/WAN port and try connecting

Lost ability to connect to home network after phone/DSL failure

Recreate your wlan network.
WLAN signal refers only to radio signal between Router and PC no link with your capability to pass-through: wrong password, access list or firewall can block your access with the strongest radio signal.
Check (or recreate ) your credential on your PC.
Check if you can log as admin into your Router.

No internet connection

This should be connected as so. From wall outlet to DSL modem, from DSL modem to D-Link router, From D-Link router to Laptop via wireless or wired connection. You will still need the DSL modem installed but the wire coming from the DSL modem will go to uplink port on the router instead of into the laptop.
