plug in the binoculars then go to control panel/device manager look for the yellow exclamation mark right click it and choose update drivers allow it to go on the internet to find the drivers. You may have a 64 bit computer with an older software that only works on 32 bit. We'll see if the manufacturer tried to make a driver for both.
Hi Brian, Try this, it may work.It will tell you whether or not it is the Camera or the Software. Your camera, as far as the computer itself and Windows XP is concerned is a 'DRIVE'. Try the following steps: 0 Go to the desktop of the computer and in a blank spot right click the mouse and using the menu CREATE A NEW FOLDER ON THE DESKTOP. LABEL IT "EMERSON PHOTO TEST" 1 Unplug the camera from the computer 2 Un-install the software. 3 If there are no pictures in the camera. Shoot some. 4 Turn the camera OFF. 5 While the camera is OFF, connect the it to the computer using it's cable. 6 Turn the camera ON (you should hear two musical notes telling you that it is connected. 7 Set the camera to the view mode as though your were looking at pictures on the screen on the camera back 8 There should appear a box on the screen. The first item in the box should be highlighted. It will say "Copy pictures to a folder on my computer using Microsoft Scanner and Camera Wizard"Click on that. 9 Follow each step of the wizard and deposit all of the pictures into the folder " Emerson Photo Test" Don't Erase the photos from the camera if it asks you. 10 Shut off the camera and disconnect it 11 Open up the folder on the desktop. At the top of the folder on the right select files view to Thumbnails. If your cable and camera are OK, the photos will be there. 12 To Test PhotoImpressions5, to see if it will view the photos without crashing your computer. Reinstall it and open the folder on the desktop. One additional thing. If your Windows XP is not fully up to date, you should download The Service Packs and install them until you get to Service Pack 3. To check which service pack you have now, if any, go to My Computer" and view "System Information" it will tell you which Service Pack you have. I hope this helps, Best Regards, Mark
