If this is a High Eff furnace:
1) Remove the compartment that has the igniter and burners, turn the
power back on, if the furnace lites then you have a problem with the
intake air vent, probably iced over if you live where its cold.

2)Make sure the exhaust vent is not getting backpressure from the
wind.

3) you could cut the pipes on the inside of the house to disconnect them from the furnace, test run the furnace with no pipes. If the furnace
runs then you have a problem with the installation of the vent pipes.

4) Do not run the furnace without the exhaust pipe disconnected,
go to the hardware store and get a couple of rubber clamped
couplings and hook-up the exhaust pipe!

Good Luck

Goodman Model GMV950905DX-an electrical surge burned out the transformer which I replaced, also replaced the circuit board. The variable speed furnace will no longer kick into high speed and it will l

If I remember correctly, there are dip switches on that control board that can be set individually. It is possible that it is just a setup issue. The switch positions should be explained in the installation instructions. I know that some Goodman and Amana two stage furnaces can be controlled by a single stage thermostat, but the dip switches have to be set properly. If the switches are set correctly the furnace will run in low stage heat for approximately 5 minutes and if the thermostat hasn't satisfied yet, it will kick in to high stage heat. I hope this points you in the right direction!

New furnace, Water In Induction Motor, Yellow Flame

The problem is too much gas as opposed to not enough air. It is still running rich. Did you take into account the elevation of the location your furnace is installed at. The higher above sea level the less air that you have to aid in cumbustion. The condensation is from excess gas being cold and causing water to accumulate. Can you run it like this? Yes but it will cause issues with soot and carbon deposits. It will also cost you more money in the long run.

Why does new furnance with propane conversion have yellow flames?

Make sure the kit included smaller sized orifice's and spring kit for the gas valve. The number on each orifice should be cross referenced with total btu's rating of the furnace. It does seem like there is too much fuel or not enough air intake (combustion air). The inches of W.C. seem fine, but you still may be getting too much volume of fuel with too large of sized orifice's. Hope that helps

If the pressure switch fails to close is this because of a bad switch or inducer fan motor? goodman model gmp100-4

Do not assume that the pressure switch is bad nor the vent motor. The first thing to check is the vacuum hose from the pressure switch to the vent motor. Sometimes they get moisture in them and sometimes they get clogged in the start tube on the vent motor. Take a small needle or paper clip and clean out the start tube on the vent motor. Check the hose for dry rotting or leaks. Cut the ends back about an 1/2" if you have enough hose extra and then re-connect. Next step is to check your flue pipe for a restriction like a birds nest or a wasp nest in the outside termination point. Then to eliminate the vent motor from the equation, take the vacuum hose off the vent motor start tube and with the furnace calling for heat , **** on the hose to keep a constant vacuum on the pressure switch. Watch the ignitor glow or spark ingition start to spark. make sure it lights the burner runners and all burners are lite. usually the ignitor is on the first burner and then there is a flame sensor on the last burner. If the flame does not ignite to the last burner the flame senor will kick tell the control board to turn off the gas valve and shut down. If this happens pull the flame senor out with a 5/16" nut drive and clean lightly with sand paper and re-install it. Start the process over and you should have sucessfully fixed your furnace. If the constant vacuum does not bring on the ingnitor replace the pressure switch.

Goodman GMP075-3 Random Incomplete startup

If the draft motor starts then shuts right off and then a red light comes on usually means that there is a blockage somewhere. Check the pressure switch line, make sure that it is clear and the hole in the heater that the pressure switch vaccum line runs to is open. If that checks out then make sure that your flue vent cap is on and that it is not pressed down on the flue vent and that the gases can vent properly

Goodman: My Power Venter (aka Heat and Draft Inducer) won't start

The power ventor most likely needs to be replaced. But be advised. Goodman normally will not sell parts to anyone but a certified technician. I had to show my masters certificate to buy parts from their outlet. This is a part that has a high rate of failure.
