First, check your power supply (the adapter). Is it putting out the required voltage to charge the battery?
If not, then you might have a dead battery and no way to charge it.
If the power supply is working and when you turn on the computer you get no lights, then you're probably looking at a new motherboard.
If you get startup lights and hear the fan, then it's getting power and you might have a video problem. But it sounds like, from what you wrote, there is no activity at all when you try to start it. That would be the power circuit on the motherboard, most likely.

Remove the battery. Keep pressed power button 30 seconds. Reinsert the battery. Try again.
If not let it start like this - black screen. And press ONE TIME FN and F5 until the screen comes back again. OR FN and F9.

Toshiba Satellite Goes completley off! Black screen, NO POWER!

This problem is likely caused by overheating. The CPU reaches a temp to high and shuts the system down. When you try to turn it on the system is still to hot and it will not let the computer power on. You can try blowing out the fans and heat sink with an air compressor or can of compressed air. If this does not help the problem you may need to have thermal compound reapplied. If that does not fix it it will need a new heatsink/fan/

Problem with booting my A205-S4577 with the powercord on

Have you tried a new power AC/DC convertor ? make sure you have the correct spec...see manual for power adaptor needed. Cost less if you can get a loan of one. other than this i would be looking into checking the power jack. hope this helps

My Toshiba A205 S4777 won't start up and I can't use the recovery media to fix it.

Try flashing the bios by pulling the chord out attached to the "watch" battery.
