Try going to the Asus website and look for support for your MB drivers and Operating System.

If there is no longer any Win98 support for your MB then I suggest a fresh computer and more recent software for less hassle!
A ten year old OS indicates to me that you might be stuck until you go with the flow!
Cruel but true.
Hopefully the recent cheap prices for computers pre-installed with Vista or XP will persuade you.

How can i make bios k8n-vm.rom to motherboard because i cant read from flopy this file , thank you

anaging and updating your BIOS
The following utilities allow you to manage and update the motherboard
Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) setup.
1.
ASUS EZ Flash
(Updates the BIOS using a floppy disk during POST.)
2.
ASUS AFUDOS
(Updates the BIOS in DOS mode using a bootable floppy
disk.)
3.
ASUS CrashFree BIOS 2
(Updates the BIOS using a bootable floppy
disk or the motherboard support CD when the BIOS file fails or gets
corrupted.)
4.
ASUS Update
(Updates the BIOS in Windows
®
environment.)
Refer to the corresponding sections for details on these utilities.

prepare the motherboard support CD or the floppy disk containing the updated motherboard BIOS before using this utility.
• Make sure that you rename the original or updated BIOS file in the
floppy disk to K8NVM.ROM.

Recovering the BIOS from the support CD
To recover the BIOS from the support CD:
1. Remove any floppy disk from the floppy disk drive, then turn on the
system.
2. Insert the support CD to the optical drive.
3. The utility displays the following message and automatically checks
the floppy disk for the original or updated BIOS file.
4. Restart the system after the utility completes the updating process.
DO NOT shut down or reset the system while updating the BIOS! Doing
so can cause system boot failure!

The south chipset bridge of my Asus k8n-vm motherbard heats up

85 to 95 is ok. Anything higher than100 is pushing it. If possible add a fan to the side of the system case (Best choice) or you can buy a south bridge fan. You're MB doesn't have holes in the MB to attach a chipset fan but you can still attach a cooler on to the chipset. Like this fan; http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103155
And you'll need this as well for a good bond; http://www.outletpc.com/c2019.html

Enjoy!

Problem

Hello nikunj_bhatt:

I know that you have a hard time with English.
But to get your idea and problem we need to clearly understand what you are doing and how. Have someone to help you with this English.

I will attempt to help.

Make absolutely sure you have the correct bios set up for this mother board.
If you put in the wrong bios recovery, then the problems cannot be corrected and may render the mother board useless.

However, if it was the correct one, then it seems that this needs to be done again. Make sure you have read the instructions which comes with the data bios set up disk and program.
Thanks,
Hope this helps.

Pc restart problem

Yes, your mobo Asus P5LD2-VM support CPUs with Conroe-core ("Core 2 Duo"). http://support.asus.com/cpusupport/cpusupport.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=P5LD2-VM But for new CPUs strongly recommended use last BIOS version - 1401 from 2007/08/14. http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/socket775/P5LD2-VM/P5LD2-VM-1401.rar
