Hi.
This tip is valid for valid for Whirlpool Duet front load washer, HE3, HE3T Kenmore,Fagor, amd more washers built by Whirlpool group.
F02 means that there is a drain problem, and F09 is overflow condition. When you get both error , it is usually because of a faulty pressure switch. Better testing the drain system as described below , before replacing the pressure switch..
To start try clearing the error by disconnecting the power cord or tripping the circuit breaker for five minutes. If you can clear the error, then the problem was just temporary.
The drain pump must be accessed as the drain hose is probably clogged. Also drain pump must be tested and eventually replaced.
If
you get the error , but there is no water inside, and drain system is
working correctly, then test and eventually replace the water level pressure
switch, that determines when to start/stop fillng and drain.
If the drain lines are not clogged, the drain pump can be tested by
reading ohms at solenoid (contacts on valve), and by energizing the
pump directly.
If the pump is fine, then test the pressure switch by jumping its contacts, and advancing cycle to drain to avoid overfilling.
If you get both the codes, the cause is usually the pressure switch
Since one of the codes is overfilling, check if the inlet valve is opening and closing during the cycle, by observing if water starts and stops flowing into the machine, or by reading volts at inlet valve or at electronic control contacts. If the valve stays open or leaks with no volts from timer, then the valve is faulty. If timer is opening the valve while draining, then the timer board is probably faulty.
If water and sensor are OK, then it can be a problem with wiring or control board. Electronic control board causing this error is not common.
Test all other parts first.
