I have a Remington 100 Heater. Was running fine until we had to refuel with kero that has a die in it. The heater will run for about 10-15 mins. then just start smoking with a heavy fuel smell. Cleaned the plug worked fine for 10-15 mins and did the smoke signal send out. Any Suggestions?

Similar heaters that use diesel have to routinely cope with the dye added to untaxed fuel, ditto similar heaters that use both fuels. Unless there was an excess of dye in the fuel you used the problem was probably a coincidence.

Dirt can be a big problem due to corrosion forming in the fuel tank caused by a relatively large percentage of moisture naturally in the fuel and the formation of condensation. Fuel is generally filtered through a fine gauze when the tank is filled but there is little or no filtration preventing dirt already in the tank from being picked up and finding a way into the spray head which generally jams the spinner affecting the quality of the fuel spray.

Cleaning the spinner and nozzle might work for a while but only a major clean out will restore reliability until the next time. It is also wise to check and adjust the pressure of the air pump.

SOURCE: Heater was fine one min then no fuel the next!

This heater is made by Reddy Heater. There are certain problems they develope after running for some time and are very critical of the pump pressure. If it is wrong the unit will light sometimes and not others. I have a tip at this address http://www.fixya.com/support/r4124129-yearly_maintenance_reddy_heaters which explains in detail how to repair your unit and where to get the parts. Let me know if you need anymore help.

Heater comes on fine runs 5 to 10 minutes and quits. sometimes it doesn't run that long

Are you using old fuel from last year? If so, drain/clean tank. Check/replace fuel filter. Refuel with fresh fuel & test again.

CAN I PUT DIESEL IN MY KERO REDDY HEATER 150,000 BTU HEATER AND WILL IT SMELL OR RUIN IT

since the combustion temp of diesel is different from KERO, expect the heater to shut down from overheating at times.
since it will probably heat up faster than on KERO.

Heater fires starts to heat and goes out

The most likely cause is your thermocouple. Make sure it is in the flame when it is lit.
Make sure it is clean. (if not a little piece of fine steel wool will clean it).
If that does not do it change your thermocouple.
