Is there a way to replace the rechargeable battery? After 10 or so years, mine has given up the ghost. I love the C-PEN, but without a battery it's useless. :~(
If the charger is connected to C-Pen and the recharging
process does not start, follow these instructions.
1. Disconnect the charger from your C-Pen.
2. Insert something thin (like an unfolded paperclip) into
the reset hole and press gently.
3. Reconnect the charger to C-Pen.
4. C-Pen should begin recharging the battery within 10
seconds. If recharging does not start (the battery power
level icon is not moving in the status field) please
repeat steps 1-3 above. Remember to make sure that
the charger is not connected to C-Pen while pressing
the reset button.
There is no way to access the battery since it is built in. To replace it you would have to open it up, if you would like to attempt this the battery type is Rechargeable, NiMH.
I have just replaced the battery on my C-Pen 800c with one from ESP Special Batteries. They did not have a suitable plug, so I had to remove the wires from the old battery and solder to the new. http://www.espspecialbatteries.co.uk/battery/ESP-1-69-125A This cost 9.80 including postage.

I replaced the battery in mine(coleman powermate) for 10 bucks but you have to be careful in how you disassemble it and put it back together. Batteries sulfate after awhile like a car battery.
So, you have purchased 100 batteries and none of them worked! Now you have spent $15 on rechargeable ones and they didn't work either. At $.50 a battery and adding the rechargeable ones, you've spent $65 on batteries and you still "love this camera"? I think your daughter deserves something better. So do you.
rechargeable batteries can build a memory, if you use it say for 5 minutes and then put it back on the charger - then the next time you use it for 5 screws and put it back on the charge - see where I am going Over time the rechargeable batteries "learn" they only have to work for 5 minutes ( dang my son was that way) You need to fully drain them and recharge them fully several times might take 10 times. We have a program in our shop that when you are done with a battery it goes in the flashlight until dead, dead, dead then to the charger. I have batteries that are 10 years old and still work almost like new. You may have to replace yours but it is worth a try
I have the exact same camera almost a year too. It is a total "swinka" on batteries. About 10-15 shots on super ni-cads, and quits without warning.
A pair of Energizer 7X gave me near 500 shots. Much cheaper but still ...
So 4 months ago I bought a charger and 2 rechargeables. Charge one while using the other one. I may get 70-90 shots per charge on these lithium-ion rechargeable batteries, without flash.
Testing the batteries without a load doesn't really tell you anything. What's the reading? Should be well over 4 volts when fully charged. Mine show 4.2V
All,
There is DEFINITELY A PEN IN THE CX2620 stylii. I just replaced mine with a AAAA battery. The old one (which is a AAAA size, you can find these inside 9-volt batteries) had acid buildup on its positive end and that is why the pen went inactive. There is a lot of debate over this pen problem and I guarantee 90% of the time it's related to the battery. I can do a clean replace on anybody's CX2620 pen/stylii with a fresh battery for $10. If interested email me at . You pay for shipping, your total about $17 or so. I have never done this before but I just replaced mine flawlessly so I can do others. I know there are a lot of dead stylii out there and people don't know what to do, took me a while to figure it out.
Thanks,
Kevin Teman
