Sorry for the delay in responding but I just got back from work. I have a 3100 Model Bell Sat. Receiver and a Zenith DVD2251C DVD Player. I am hoping to upgrade to a HD Bell Receiver (NOT the recorder Model).

Lets see, 3100 has no digital out, so you need analog inputs for the audio. Best picture with the 3100, use S-video. Digital input for the DVD sound and S-video in for picture. OOPS....does your TV have a S-Video input ?. If not then you have to use the RCA standard video type connector, as this particular denon doesnt do up or down conversion to or from S-video to old style RCA.

Sorry for the late response.....Rob

PS.....the HD bell wont do you any good with this receiver nbecause it doesnt have component video inputs. Enjoy Bells' superior picture with regular TV . Its way better than cable. Rob

Hi! How do connect an equalizer to my Denon AVR-1803?

I find the best way to connect any equalizer is to connect via the tape monitor sockets, assuming that the AVR has one. From the equalizer in and out sockets - connect the Eq OUT to Tape IN on the AVR. And Eq IN to Tape OUT on the AVR.
Some AVR don't allow connections, due the equalizer interfering with Surround Sound systems. If you can connect switch off the equalizer when listening to Dolby or other surround formats, as it will spoil the sound.

RE: Denon AVR 3300 - I cannot get the system setup menu to display on Phillips P50PFP5332D tv screen? All connected components work and sound great, but I cannot see Denon's Setup menu on tv to a

I understand, it's something I've misunderstood on my denon avr-790 as well when connected to a samsung 8000 series led tv.
The answer isn't in the receiver's settings (you can be on whatever source you want on the receiver end when toggling the menu). You need to toggle through the tv's sources to find the menu (usually found on hdmi 1). I've spent towards an hour recently troubleshooting only to find that it was the tv's source that wasn't set properly and I was trying to change the receiver's settings instead of the tv's source.
Hope that helps!

I have a Denon AVR-1707 with a center, 2 front speakers, and surround sound back speakers. When set to FM radio, all speakers work. When set to TV, only one side speaker works. Any ideas? It worked fine...

Follow the sound back to its source. FM is internal so it can't possibly have a cabling issue.

I imagine your TV sound ultimately originates from a cable box which has a nice juicy digital output that the Denon could use. Why route audio through a TV, like the manuals tell you, when you can get it straight to the best audio device without a detour to a TV and its dubious audio electronics?

Just connected sky via hdmi through denon 3310 and no sound is coming through the tv. Also do i need to have amp on to view sky via hdmi?

ensure that HDMI is selected in your sky settings.

you would not need an amp at all just to view sky, only if you were routing sound to say a surround system.

Are you only getting no sound from the tv? or are you getting sound via the amp but not from the tv?

No picture on tv

This unit upconverts all video inputs to component output, so connect all your devices to your denon audio and video inputs and component video out of the denon to the tv component in and all should work fine

How to connect BLU-RAY DVD player to Pioneer Plasma TV via HDMI

The best possible solution to your problem is :
Connect your blu ray player directly to the HDMI input of you Plasma and watch HD video....
and connect the 5.1/7.1 sound thru the optical or the coaxial link directly to your AVR 3805.
You will not loose anything on the Blu-Ray.
The sound is best processsed by the AVR3805, while the video, which is the real upgrade (BluRay) in terms of resolution of picture would be processed by your plasma.

Connect and Enjoy

Loss of sound on the Denon AVR 2807 a/v surround receiver when I turn on and off lights in my house

Finally the problem was with the HDMI cable. When I pushed it in on the TV set the problem disappeared. It seems the connections must be quite firm on the HDMI cables otherwise anything may interfere to the sound.
