Press F8 and choose command prompt. You may have to use a boot disc if you can't get c prompt. Type cmd ENTER. From the Command Prompt type chkdsk /r/f ENTER. R and F are redundant for repair and fix, but does not hurt.
First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot andgo into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If itdoesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer orlaptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer/laptop again.
Hi "Wambuilyds"
It show no hard disk is detected in your laptop, please check your BIOS to know the Hard disk is detected, also try to re connect your hard disk.. if the problem exists buy new Hard disk and install windows again,,
Thank you
if you have more than 1 memory sticks installed try taking 1 of them out to see if it boots, if not install it back in then take the other 1 out. try to see if you can also go into system setup when you boot. or try clicking f8 bunch of times after restarting system to see if you can go into safe mode
go into bios setting and check your boot options; make sure cd-rom is first choice for booting. once this is done, insert any installation disc for the new operating system you want, and the computer will tell you to press a key to boot from the disc, this will allow you to install a new system
if that will not work and since you have the disk, you don't need special combination keys to press. just boot to the disk by changing the boot sequence on your BIOS or in some cases, pressing F12.
Download "Hiren's Boot cd".Burn the ISO images in a disc.Set your BIOS to boot using that disc.Select Mini windows XP.There you can have all the repairs tools pre-loaded.If none of the tools able to fix then you can always backup your important files and doa new re-installed.
Here is the link of lastest Hiren's Boot cd http://d2.hirensbootcd.net/Hirens.BootCD.10.1.zip
You try to remove all the program during startup using that disk with "msconfig" command.
