I have GE Profile PDS18SBMRBS refrigerator. The drain tube keeps clogging with ice, blocking the fan that blow air into the refrigerator, hence stopping the cooling. How do I fix it permanently?

This sounds like it is not defrosting, plus the drain may be clogged not letting the water drain. The drain clog will not block the fan, but not defrosting will.

Ice in freezer and warm refrigerator Zisb48dyb

Hi,

If I remember correctly, GE had a issue with the drain pan as it would clog or restrict and back up in the freezer and in the air return (hence, water under crispers if refer section). GE has a repair kit for this and they have also changed the drain hose to prevent self restricting as it leaves the freezer. This part is an Icing kit part# WR49x10021, this comes with complete instruction as to what your changing and why. This should solve your drain and water problem, if this is what your issue is. I hope this was helpful.

Drain tube blocked in freezer GE profile PDS22MCRBWW

This is a result of the drain being clogged. you'll have to locate the drain hole in the bottom of the freezer. Remove the wire bins and gently poke around the back of the floor of the refer with your finger. You should be able to feel a soft spot and clear the drain with a Q-tip or something else soft and flexable.

The bottom of my refrigerator fills with water beneath the storage bins. It is a top freezer model.

Remove the food and the ice maker from the freezer ( if equiped ) . Remove the rear freezer panel . Using a hair dryer , start in the middle , below the coils , defrosting , until you see the drain hole . Use hot water to help defrost the hole . Once water starts going thru the hole , use a small hose inserted into the hole , and blow thru , to remove any unseen debris in the drain line .

Our G E Profile TCS18 freezer works but the top of the Fridge doesn't cool. No cold air comes from the top inside vents in the fridge.

when you open the freezer,do you hear the fan blowing air around, the evap fan motor could be bad or you could have a blocked drain and the water froze icing up the fan blade

Water building up in bottom of freezer on PSC23sGPA

Sounds like the drain line is clooged, you need to remove the pan and put a hose into the drain tube and blow out the obstruction,if ice is blocking the hole you will need to thaw it out to open up the drain hole.

GE Profile Refrigerator - Small Leak & Loud Noise

Does water come out of the water dispenser?

I is more likely that the tube that drains the water down from the self defrost mechanism is clogged. Look in the very back of the reefer cabinet, you will see a trough back there, if it is full of ice and water the drain tube is clogged up. If so, a little blast of air from a can of air (like the ones you use to blow off computer key boards will blow it out. Then the water can drain down to the evaporator pan and you will no longer get water on the floor.

Ice maker tube freezing up

  • change the water valve on the back of the machine.
  •  the water valve is slowly leaking water up to the icemaker where it freezes and builds up ice, blocking the water flow.
