My refrigerator stopped cooling, but I still have power and lights, however, my digital cooling settings are no longer lit. Is it possible my board is bad and how do I go about fixing this problem, or can there be another problem? I really don't want to purchase another frige, as mine is only 5 yrs old. I have a volt meter & light electrical background. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Samsung RT26FARWDSA refrigerator stopped working after a power outage. Only the lights comes on but it doesn`t cool

Cut the power to the refrigerator for 2 minutes (unplug it or flip the circuit breaker), and then restore power. If after 3 hours, the fridge is still not cooling, service may be required. If the sides of the fridge are not warm or slightly hot to touch, either the compressor or condensation pipe or both have failed. Samsung guarantee digital compressor for 10 years (not including labour) and usually 2 years from new for any parts and labour. Power on Interior lights on refrigerator does not operate not cool

The interior lamps fail to light up as the swittch is faulty , so replace teh door switch if a contact cleaning wont help.
Now the cooling is related to many issues, so shut off fridge to allow time of 5 hours, The restart , if the fridge does not cool , the compressor , gas pressure is done and must be checked. If cooling is present then check if the auto defrost timer/thermostat is faulty as the fridge might stop cooling after 12 hours.

GE profile not cooling

If the refrigerator isn't cool, you need to answer some questions, then see if the compressor is running. First, answer these questions: Is the refrigerator completely dead? If so, see “It's stopped completely.” Is the thermostat knob turned to the proper setting? If not, reset it. Next, see if the compressor motor is running The compressor is a football-sized case with no apparent moving parts. It's on the outside of the refrigerator at the back near the bottom. If it is humming or making a continuous noise and your refrigerator is still not cooling, there may be a more serious problem with one or more of several different components, we recommend contacting a qualified appliance repair technician for further help. If the compressor is not running but you do have power to the refrigerator, there may be a problem with one or more of these: The compressor The Thermostat The overload, relay, or capacitor The defrost timer The condenser fan motor

Refrigerator stops cooling but lights are on. When I pull the AC plug and plug it in again the Refrigerator starts cooling again.

See the overload relay beside the body of the motor compressor where the wires are connected, full it out and have it check, this is act like a sensor, when it sense too much heat it will automatically cur the power to the compressor which wil stop cooling, and when you unplug it or cool it down then it will de-activate the sensor.

try other overload relay see if the porblem still there

I also have the same refrigerator model 106.56566400 and periodically when the power goes off in the house the refrigerator & freezer will stop cooling. Try pushing the on/off button located inside the refrigerator to the left of the digital temperature controls. Hold the button down, this turns the unit off, then press it again to turn it back on. This basically resets the refrigerator, and most of the time works to get the refrigerator cooling again. Try this first before calling a repair man.
