need more info.. but possible causes are the waterfilter is leaking.. if no filter then the defrost drain is clogged .... need a brand name and model number to narrow down any more
Start by taking a look at the lower or back part of your refrigerator. A grille ought to be visible on both parts. There is a strong likelihood the water filter is inside if you observe the grille. Check the upper-right corner of the refrigerator if the grille on the back or lower portion is not visible. https://www.usawaterquality.org/water-filter-on-a-kenmore-coldspot-refrigerator/
Why did it fail? How did it fail? Was it the plumbing that failed? Replace it with a Pentair filter housing, 10" housing, 20" housing or Big Blue housing and make sure it is plumbed in properly. It is very unusual for a filter housing to fail unless it freezes up. RJ
without a model number i cannot tell exactly where the filter would be. most are located at the bottom in the lower grill area. some can also be inside the refr section at the upper right hand side. most will have to be turned a quarter turn to remove, and some have a push button release. the way to remove should be easy to understand once you find the filter. order new filters online at waterfilters.com or similar place.
G E waterfilters , can be bad when new (all , not just G E ). Put your old one back in , if water flow was fine , and you replaced just because the light came on . Or , use the plastic bypass piece , which came with the refrig , when new . The replace light , works off time and/or usage times only . If you have good water flow and the cubes are normal size , don't change the filter when the light comes on , just reset the light . All "filter" companies , have found the way to sell more filters , the light on dispensors .
Once you've changed the filter in the back of the frig section press and hold the light and lock buttons for a few seconds and the water filter indicator will reset.
