How to reset a router? I changed the password on my streamyx acc and wish to know how do i change it on the router. I cant access the internet with the router. I wish to know how to do that.

Are you trying to reset the router password or wireless network password?
Wireless network password is different than router access password.
To change the wireless password, you will need to access the router page and change the settings.

To change the router access password, you can log in to router page and go to administration tab. There you will find the place to change the router password.

Press and hold RESET button for 10 seconds it is in the back side of router. Then all settings defaults. Then need to configure it with below method.
Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. If you are still not able to access router with above ip then you need to RESET it for that press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router then all settings defaults..Then you can access it with above method. Then click on WAN settings set it as your internet service provider settings enable DHCP Then click on wireless and enable it. . Then click on wireless->wireless security->WEP security there is code password note down it or enter new password then save setting s and restart router. then you can connect wireless with new password. 1. Connect your computer to your Wi-Tribe modem
2. In your web browser, open 192.168.1.1, enter witribe for the password
3. Click on Local Address on the left
4. Notice the 3rd column are all 1s, change them to 2
5. Save your settings. From now on, to access this page again, you'll need to acces 192.168.2.1
6. Now unplug your computer from your modem, then plug the modem into the router's internet port
7. Plug your computer to one of the router's ethernet port
8. Turn on your router, run your router's setup disc
9. Your router should detect the settings of your modem, if not find your router's settings page, usually 192.168.1.1, yes this is now the router's setting page and not the modem's, then
10. Make sure that your router is set to get internet access configuration via DHCP (usually labeled internet connection type).

If you can remember your password,reset the linksys router.
Resetting the router to the factory defaults will delete any changes you have made to the router, including any security settings.
To reset the router using the reset button, use these steps:
1.Look for the red reset button at the back of the router.
2.Press and hold the reset button for approximately 5 seconds.
To acces the router configuration panel -open your browser(Internet Explore,Firefox..)
Type http://192.168.1.1 to acces your pages. Enter user name and password,leave user name blank and enter admin as the password.

the only thing you need to do is reset your router to go the IP address original 192.168.2.1
because when you setup it as a access point the router change the Ip Address.

restore the router to factory default settings, please do the following:

1. Unplug the router's power supply
2. Press and hold the reset button on theback of the router
3. Keep the reset button depressed and, at the same time, plug the power supply back in
4. Keep the reset button depressed for another 10 seconds
5. Release the reset button

do this for 3 times and you will acces your router.

make sure you can access the router configuration page

change you computer ip addess to match the ip address range of the router

ex if router is 192.168.1.1
set computer ip to 192.168.1.2
subnetmask 255.255.255.0

and set default gateway and dns server address to gataway address

geateway 192.168.1.1
dns server 192.168.1.1

try it most probably you need to make sure you have configured your adsl user name and password and other settings in you router since you have rested it

This happens due to user restrictions on your router make sure the user name and passwords.

If u forgot them u can reset the router by pressing the reset button on router. After some time the router will start and u can access the router with default passwords.

There is no simple way of knowing how many people are using your internet connection, sorry.

Anyone who has your password can access your internet connection.

If you wish to limit the number of users, change your password and only give it to those you wish to allow access to your connection.

The router has a built in configuration chip that allows you to work on the router from your computer. This is called Web Admin Console

Your computer's IP address is 192.168.10.4
The router's address is by default 192.168.10.1 from factory. (AKA the GATEWAY.. like gateway to the internet) This can be changed but it is highly reccomened you leave it default.

To access the configuration of your router
Go to internet explorer and type http://192.168.10.1 hit enter.
You will see a window with a webpage of some sort that has the Motorola logo somehwere.
Look for PPPoE or password setting... you should be able to navigate from here..


A word of advice.. enter your password, save settings, slick or or something like that..
then restart router (pull power, wait 5 secs, and then plug back in) The router has to talk to Bell for a bit to make sure it knows that you're authorized to use the DSL line.

you can not access the internet - maybe you will not read this..

Definately reset your router - and setup as you did previously.
Omit setting passwords until you have full confidence in the router and your own settings.
