There a small plastic sensors on paper path, normaly you have some sensor stucked.

you can check all paper path inside printer, there is a paper door nearby power input. open-it and locate the sensors small plastic finger check for free mooving operation.
normaly is one of three sensors (one for no-paper, 2nd for middle of paper path and one for paper position nearby print-head, test path with a paper, for free path.

It says that my printer has a "paper jam", but there is nothing there. I have turned it off, unpluged it, double checked the back for paper, but nothing works.

ya open the front dor and remove cartidhe then check there is not any paper jam then refix cartridge .also check in back side of printer that tyhere is not any paper jam .
thats all.
