Just purchased Kenmore top load 900 series washer. Since when is regular agitation speed considered acceptable for the delicate cycle? Although this is intermittent agitation, my delicate shirts and sweaters are totlally stretched out. Manual says delicate is for lightly soiled clothes. Had a Kenmore for the last 15 yrs that had delicate cycle. Slow gentle agitation. Webster's definition of delicate says "easily damaged" This washing machine's delicate cycle is definitely not delicate. Feel Kenmore's "delicate" is extremely misleading Any way to change the agitation speed on this cycle ?

SOURCE: fabric pulls on gentle cycle

Check the inside of the drum to see if there is any loose vanes.  Then check the holes in the drum itself to see if there is any protruding metal shavings that is causing the problem.  There should be no rough edges at all.  It sounds like the drum is the problem.

Explanation of Wash Cycles

Sorry but you only have the one speed on this particular brand. Perm and short are just less time. The best thing to do is always use large water setting and less delicates in the load on a short cycle to compensate for the speed and protect your delicate fabrics.

Kenmore 90 series with speed selector switch set to heavy duty cycle it works fine any other setting , regular , hand wash setting the agitator makes a loud clicking sound as it agitates

sounds like a transmition problem. does the noise happen when it goes into spin on the other settings? If no noise in the spin cycle on the other setting, then it sounds like a the gears in the transmition internally when bad for the agitation.

Washer won't spin

Hi, If the washer agitates but does not spin, it could be a lid switch. When the timer is in the spin cycle, can you hear the motor running?
If you look around the lid opening, you should see the model# label.
Most common problem is the lid switch and that is worth fixing. Please let me know if this helps and if I can assist you further.

Kenmore washer aggiates slower than when new. is

Usually, there are two agitator modes. A Normal ("Fast") mode, and a delicates ("Slow") mode. Put washer in 'delicates' cycle and see if the agitator slows down even further. If it stays at same speed as in perma press or 'normal' mode, then there is an open in the circuit betwixt the controller dial and the agitator control.

No agitation in the delicate and regular modes.

does you washer have a delicate, or normal speed adjustment switch, if it does make sure its not between setting or it will sound like a machine gun......you may need to replace that switch

Series 70 prob: Recently started wrapping clothes around agitator

some fabrics are known to do that you have on wrong cycle setting there should be a setting for delicates and clothing and blankets and things when loaded to close to agitator will attract each other together so its wise when loading machine load in a circle leveled out till desired fullness away from agitator they shouldnt attract as much
