My husband was using the remote, after muting he went to go back to sound and got a blank screen and "undefined" message. Now the remote will not do anything. What do I do?
He tried every button to fix, and tried mannually turning componenets off and on again. He now has sound, but the remote is not controlling anything.

This article is intended to help with a blank screen, or no picture at all. If you are getting an error message on your screen, we'd recommend searching for the exact error message.
1. Check to make sure your TV is powering on.
>Sometimes, when you're not getting a picture, it's because the TV isn't powering on. To determine if this is a display issue, or a power issue, check the power light on your TV. It will likely be in the center, of left side of your TV. If the light is coming on- so is the TV. If it's not, Click Here for help troubleshooting a power issue.
2. Power cycle the television.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the TV or the wall outlet (whichever is easier to access.)
Hold down the power button on the side of the TV for 5 seconds.
Reconnect the power cord, and power on the television.
3. Press and hold the 'Mute' button on your remote for 5 seconds to ensure your screen isn't muted.
Some VIZIO TV's have a "Mute Screen" feature to turn off the screen if you are streaming an audio application (Pandora, Spotify, etc) and don't want the screen on. To activate/deactivate this feature, hold the mute button for 3-5 seconds.
4. Press the 'Menu' button on your VIZIO remote to see if the menu appears.
If the television is showing a menu, we can tell the TV is working. In this case, it's likely a problem with the device you have connected to your TV. For tips on troubleshooting your device Click Here.
If the Menu button doesn't bring up a picture, and you've completed the above steps, Click Here to validate your warranty and request service.
Its likely Mute or a lockout on the audio, if out see if you have the owner manual and or the remote that came with the set, the item seen on screen is a clue.
A few things to consider: if mute on the set is not on what about the box if you are using one?
Speakers could be switched off in the set. There could be a internal / external speaker switch(not common but possible) Sound on the set could be muted or turned real low or off.
if the image you see on the screen is there--either it is from the set or a box if one is used.
only a few things other than the sound circuit being bad will cause this--very few sets with actual no sound problems are around.
Well, without knowing the exact model of tv and remote, I can just give my best guess. Try using the volume up/down on the TV and / or the remote. On the TV, try pressing both the volume up and down at the same time. Stick the remote right in the face of the TV (direct in front of the remote sensor) and hit the mute button. Try tapping the mute button in very short single bursts rather than pressing it for a half second like you would any other button. If any of those work, please come back and reply with the model of the TV and remote, because someone somewhere probably has the same issue and would love to have it solved!
On your remote you should have a mute button. Or some will cancel mute when you press volume up or down. Make sure you are using the TV remote and not the cable or dish remote.
I had this same problem this morning. Luckily, when I reset the whole thing and did the channel search again the sound returned. I have no idea why it fixed it but it did. Hope this helps you.
I have a 750. I went to settings, language and restored the defaults.
The Voice was blank when I went to that screen. I am not sure if the
205 has the language setup or not, but this should solve other Garmin
problems. And as a bonus, if you want to solve the problems with the

i just fixed mine by doing this. on the remote there should be a button that says f. hold down the f button then press mute and that should work it did for me
