Ater a few minutes the image goes black & white then colour. On and off the whole time I'm watching it. I did change the DVD player - in case but no, that's not the problem. help please.
thanks
M
On a low signal input to the set the first thing you loose is the color, then it goes snowy and then just snowwhite in a snow storm or all blue with no sound.
check your cables for no shorts and loose connections,
sometimes the color killer control inside the set in the color circuit has to be tweaked alittle.

Cable damage is the first thing to check. If the cable is external this is an easy check by trying a new one. Otherwise it is probably internal cable damage or damage to the video output plug.
Hi;
your TV has burn screen or traces.it comes from one image left on the screen for too long, it can get burned into the screen, making it visible at all times. You can actually eliminate most screen burns with the use of a PC computer and a black and white screen saver. This trick eliminates screen burn after a period of several minutes because the black and white screens flash quickly, removing all traces of color from the screen. This will eventually eliminate any burned images on the LCD screen.you can do it by creating a DVD picture slide with only black and white image.you can use a computer to make DVD picture slidefirstgo to paint brush and draw only white then save as white.jpg.secondburn it into nero or other dvd burnerthirdplay it to your DVD player connected to you LCD TV.it has to be played in full screen
let the white image display on your HDTV for several hours or even overnight. It should remove any burned-in images or ghosts.hope this help............... thanks....
there is a circuit in the color section to put the tv to black and white if the color subcarrier is missing from the broadcast signal.
it is called a color killer and needs to be adjusted.
it is for a technician to do.
it operates off the 3.58mhz color subcarrier.
Same problem with an older JVC player. One end of the S-video cable was loose. Pushed in in tight and everything ok again. Cheap fix if it works for you.
