Hello,

The F2 could mean a timer/control has detected a stuck/shorted keypad. Depending on the model number though it could also mean a shorted oven temperature sensor.

In the event it is a stuck keypad detected, the timer or keypad will need to be replaced. You should first attempt to reset the breaker or unplug the range for a couple of minutes to see if that resolves the error code.

If it is the model that uses F2 as the shorted sensor code, you`ll need to replace the oven sensor, there`s no way around that one.

If you can provide a model number by replying to this post I could try and be more specific, as right now I can only generalize with the most common F2 error codes meaning for Whirlpool manufactured ranges/ovens.

Hope that help`s, let me know.

Good luck.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Gold Range Error code EO F2

On this website: http://www.repairclinic.com/0078.asp#Whirlpool , it shows all of the codes for the Whirlpool errors. Based on the remarks, if it shows a "4 digit failure code" it is "Shorted keypad"
"Replace Electronic Range Control/Clock (ERC)"

But verify this as I am not an appliance repair specialist. I am a computer nerd who just knows how to find information. I am actually trying to figure out an answer to my own problem with my Whirlpool Gold Accubake.

SOURCE: my whirlpool gas stove oven

that code means you have a bad touch pad and it needs to be replaced, next time send the model number so i csn look up your machine to help you better.look at the back of the top console to see if the tech sheet is there, all the codes will be on it,the stove comes with a tech sheet, look around for it to confirm this is the correct thing to do for your machine depending on the model you have.also you can do this, unplug the machine, take apart to get at the ribbon coming off of the touch pad, plug the machine back in,wait a few minutes,if the code doesn't come back the touch pad is the problem,if the same code comes back with the touch pad unplugged then you have a bad clock assy.the clock has a computer built into it so it's not just a clock,so unplug the ribbon, plug it back in,no code bad touch pad, code comes back bad clock assy.if you want to send the model number off of the machine i can look up the parts and price for you.open the bottom draw and look around the frame not on the draw and you'll see a tag with the model and serial numbers, just need the model number

Alarm going off on whirlpool stove with flat top. Showing F2. Cannot find manual

Hello,

The F2 error code means that the oven temp. sensor has detected that the temp.of the oven was at least 100 degrees what the setting was ...if it was set at 350 it heated to at least 450...this sometimes is a electronic fluke especially if you didnt see wher ewhat ever you were cooking because it over heated,if that is the case you didnt experience something burnt, the F2 can can cleared by pushing cancel/off button

If the F2 does returns the oven sensor should be replaced

Code E0 and F2 with a little lock displayed on touch board of Whirlpool Gas Range. burners work but unable to operate the oven

You will need to press the cancel/stop button, this will clear the display and you will be allow to use the oven. If this does not work yoy will have to unplug the stove for five minutes and then plug back up and this should clear the display and allow the oven to work.

Hello fairglen,
welcome,

You said, model WHIRLPOOL WEP54800 Stove starts to beep at different times of the day. After four beeps F2 shows up and continues to beep when it feels it should. The control board has been checked twice and A new oven sensor installed. EVERY thing works perfect. This all started after water was brought to A boil on the back burner

But something is wrong!!??
Check your model number.
It is not showing up anywhere in the repair manuals or error codes.
Not even Canada.
What country did you buy it in?
How old is this range?

These are the only F2 codes I found in whirlpool so far!

F2 - Oven temperature sensor shorted = Replace oven temperature sensor

F2-Oven temperature above specifications = 8-pin connector oven temperature sensor to the Electronic Range Control (ERC)

Waiting your response or correction!!!!!!!!!!!
