Hello,
The F2 could mean a timer/control has detected a stuck/shorted keypad. Depending on the model number though it could also mean a shorted oven temperature sensor.
In the event it is a stuck keypad detected, the timer or keypad will need to be replaced. You should first attempt to reset the breaker or unplug the range for a couple of minutes to see if that resolves the error code.
If it is the model that uses F2 as the shorted sensor code, you`ll need to replace the oven sensor, there`s no way around that one.
If you can provide a model number by replying to this post I could try and be more specific, as right now I can only generalize with the most common F2 error codes meaning for Whirlpool manufactured ranges/ovens.
Hope that help`s, let me know.
Good luck.

On this website: http://www.repairclinic.com/0078.asp#Whirlpool , it shows all of the codes for the Whirlpool errors. Based on the remarks, if it shows a "4 digit failure code" it is "Shorted
keypad"
"Replace
Electronic
Range Control/Clock (ERC)"
But verify this as I am not an appliance repair specialist. I am a computer nerd who just knows how to find information. I am actually trying to figure out an answer to my own problem with my Whirlpool Gold Accubake.

that code means you have a bad touch pad and it needs to be replaced, next time send the model number so i csn look up your machine to help you better.look at the back of the top console to see if the tech sheet is there, all the codes will be on it,the stove comes with a tech sheet, look around for it to confirm this is the correct thing to do for your machine depending on the model you have.also you can do this, unplug the machine, take apart to get at the ribbon coming off of the touch pad, plug the machine back in,wait a few minutes,if the code doesn't come back the touch pad is the problem,if the same code comes back with the touch pad unplugged then you have a bad clock assy.the clock has a computer built into it so it's not just a clock,so unplug the ribbon, plug it back in,no code bad touch pad, code comes back bad clock assy.if you want to send the model number off of the machine i can look up the parts and price for you.open the bottom draw and look around the frame not on the draw and you'll see a tag with the model and serial numbers, just need the model number
