I have had the exact same problem with my 47LG70 after 13 months of use. I changed my remote control sensor but it did not help. Before you do that, try something simple which seems irrelevant. On this website, others have posted success by plugging in any standing set of headphones into the remote control or headphone jack on the rear TV panel. This solved my problem. So I proceeded to thoroughly dust all of the input/output component jacks on the rear and side of the TV with an air-can. This solved my problem and I do not need to have the headphones plugged in. So try these two things before changing the sensor.

I also had the exact same problem today with my 37LC7D set. Buttons on the side of set worked, but my remote suddenly stopped working. The cable set remote also stopped working with the TV. Since both remotes failed to work at the same time, I figured the problem had to be with the sensor on the set. I cleaned the lens and then used an air can to clean the connection on the set. Then my remotes worked! Apparently the sets are sensitive to dust and they need to be cleaned periodically. thanks for sharing this simple fix.

This worked like a charm. Canned air was all that was needed.

Didn't have canned air but did plug headphones in and that did the trick! Thanks a bunch!!

I think I like solution #01 (free) over solution #02 ( you have to pay). I have a LG 32 inch. There is no Headphone jack input in the back of the set but there is a remote input. I cleaned all inputs with air can: voila! My remotes now work! This Website saved me a few bucks. THANKS!

First of if you have a digital camera turn it on and look at the screen and aim the remote at the camera and oush any button on the remote you should see the remote led in the camers if not then it is the remote if you see it then it is the sensor in the tv that will need to be replaced

Go into the settings of the direct tv remote. There is a highlight for remote programming. From there you can go to i believe it said volume or tv control. Select the specific manufacturer and model to search for a universal code. Then it is a matter of holding down the program button for 3 seconds until it flashes 3 times and entering code # and hitting select. That programs it and you can hit volume to test.

After switching off and on last night the volume and mute on stopped responding on Humax remote. IT is PVR9150T and remote RT531B. TV Remote works fine with volume. Humax remote works fine on all exce

Note that this type of device is designed to be left on at all times, so should not be switched off each night. I suspect that it has some slight corruption in the user-settings, so a factory reset may be required.

Controls for LG TV 37LC2D don't work

Take a good look at the owner manual for this set, either the control board is not plugged in or what is more likely is the set has a lockout feature for that board.

Some sets now have a panel control lockout and even a remote lockout or both.

its likely locked (the controls) out.

I have an LG model 37lc2d the screen is black but has illumination and no sound at all and the green power light flashes 16 times upon powering up?

Things to check: Make sure your TV is set to the correct input.
I DK about the light flashing 16 times but that could be a stuck key on your remote control. If you can, urn off your remote and try turning on by hand and going through the "INPUT" choices to make sure you have it on the correct setting. BTW, if your TV is 5 years old, you'll make the money back in no tie if you get a new "Energy Star" TV. The new Energy Star TVs run on very little electricity compared to 5 years ago.

My remote control doesn't work for lg tv model # 37lc2d

have you tried and see if the led is flashing wile looking through a camera on a mobile phone ? this will tell if the remote is faulty.

if its not flashing then open up remote and look for bad joints/connections etc.

the most common is around the led sender and the xtal unit.

LE26R74BDX TV Not responding to Remote

there is a easier way to check your remote.
Open your radio on AM frequencies, you don't need to be tuned just noise is perfect, then bring your remote near the antenna and press some button. You will ear the frequency in your radio. If it works this way but not on the TV make sure to press the TV button before using it (if the remote is universal).

NEED CODE FOR REMOTE CONTROL TO WORK WITH TV

If this is an original remote u should not need a code. You need to find out if the remote is transmitting a signal. If it is a universal remote use your manual to find correct code, use code search or go on internet & look up code.

I have an LG 37LC2D LCD TV that is locked.

Bad filters on the main board or a bad AUX REMOTE jack on the back of the unit (also part of the main board) are the cause of this problem.

Try plugging in any jack that will fit into the AUX REMOTE jack on the back and then pulling it back out. This may fix the problem or remove any dust that may have collected in the jack. If this jack has something plugged into it (or goes bad) the TV will no longer have remote control operation (because it thinks an external remote box is being used). If this does not work then the main board will need replaced.

Note, many repair techs will think the IR board is bad (the Infra-Red Receiver board) at the front of the TV, but this is usually not the case with this model.

Hope this helps, please rate my solution.
