There are various sites that sells out Goose down duvet, you can choose any one of the sites. It's a myth that the use of feather in duvets causes allergies. In fact, normal fiber duvets retain more dust mites than these duvets.
A duvet is a bed comforter made usually of down that has a coverlet like somewhat like a pillowcase that you can remove and wash. In some instances the whole duvet can be washed. Check the label on the duvet.
Duvets/quilts are very heavy when wet, causing a very unbalanced load. If the machine could spin such a large uncentred (UK spelling!) mass it would shake itself to pieces, so all modern domestic washing machines have unbalanced load detection systems. In use these systems will vary the drum rotation to try and get the load evenly distributed before going into full spin, but if they can't then no spin occurs.
Very few domestic washing machines can take a duvet or quilt (certainly no front loader which I'm aware of, and only a few top loaders), and those which can fit them in are usually overloaded. There's nothing wrong with your machine, you just need to use a commercial launderette machine to wash and spin your duvet/quilts in future.
Have you checked the pump filter, and or that the pump is actually working. if it spins o/k with no water in, then I would suspect a draining problem.
If filter clean and pump o/k, then it could be a control module fault. if this were the case, then it would probably be wiser to purchase a new washer.
Hope this is of some help to you.
Washing machine stops at the spin cycle - light flashes. Have to drain water out manually. Happened last week and was then able to run an empty rinse cycle. Machine worked normally for another week. Same problem today but have had to drain water manually from the drum after trying an empty 90 wash and rinse cycle (both stopped on the Spin and flashed). Any ideas? Thanks. x
I have a top loading hotpoint and a feather blanket broke open and the washing machine would not drain or spin.
I had to empty it by hand(syphon and scooping), then unplug the washing machine and un hook the drain pipe and water hoses. I then tipped it over and unsrcrewed all the screws to find the pump. There should be a black hose going into it. You must take that black hose off by loosening the clamp. Once I took that off I could see the pump completely clogged with feathers. I removed the feathers and hooked everything back up. It took me about 25 min to do the entire process.
