Primware for R4 - Nintendo DS Lite

May i know which r4 card you are using, there are many differents r4 card in the market, and differenct r4 card has different compatible version. The problem may be you download the wrong kernel or the card doesn't compatible with the r4 card.

Hi denise, amh, could you please specify what r4 model you got? because there are lot of R4 out there, but the original R4 team had stopped producing R4's, all we have mostly today are clones. now some R4 only recognize up to 2GB of sd/micro sd cards, try using 2GB then see if that works..

You may have a bad firmware on R4, using wrong card (R4 for ds and ds lite, theres another for dsi and another for 3ds) a good firmware to use is r4 wood:

because the basic r4 for ds and ds lite doesnt get updates anymore

worse case senerio u bought a fake r4 or a faulty one

Sounds like you have the wrong firmware on the R4 card. I had a similar problem when I swapped cards with my granddaughter. I had the "R4 Revolution....etc" card and she had a "R4 Upgrade Revolution....etc". They look the same but un beknown to me they need different firmware!!

For the R4 you should using kernel R4 DS v1.18

i mean does your box just say r4?
cause if it only says r4 (not r4 advance)
then go to www.r4.cn and download r4 kernal 1.18.

Re R4-III upgrade .I have got mine to work today after 6 days. need to go to memory bits to download files
need 5 files

3. r4
4. r4 eng
5. r4.dat

looking inside some of these files above to sort files.

1- If you are using the same card in both cards and only work in the R4 deluxe then your R4 SDHC need different system files to work.

2- If you are using different cards with different system files for each one then the files would be corrupted, download them again from R4 site; or your SD memory need to be formatted to fat32 for your SDHC R4.

Could be the R4 is not coming into contact with the connections inside the DS.Try putting the r4 in the Ds then using a piece of paper folded a couple of times down inside the slot between the ds and the r4 to push the connection pins together a bit better.
