Need a water filter for my ice maker

I have an Admiral HMG 62163 and would like to put a water filter on, can you tell me what filter to get and how to install it?

    I went to home depot and the inline filter was one that I would have to cut the copper pipe and place each end into the filter, but I do not know if that would leak or if I need special tools. Does this sound right to you?

You can go to any appliances parts store and get an in line filter it in stalls in the incoming water line before it screws on the water valves comes with instructions if you get the kit

    you just get the kit and a small tubing cutter follow the directions and you wont have no promblems now if you have extra line behind the fridge leave it to make pulling the fridge out and in easier also if you get extra line with the kit just use the line already there but use the fittings from the kit its not hard and if its done right wont leak

How do i remove an ice maker from an admiral hmg 62184
Most have a multi-connector electrical plug and a couple of screws that the ice maker hangs on. Disconnect the connector (most squeeze somewhere) and then loosen the screws. You may have to stick your head inside to see them. The water just 'falls' into a trough and thence to the chiller.

Ice maker won't make ice after replacing water filter -plugged
I've had the discolored water before when replacing the filter. It normally means that there was gunk in the water line.

Do you still hear the ice maker trying to draw water in?
If not, the water pump might be burnt out.

If so, see below.

The water lines that feed the dispencer and the ice maker split after a certain point.

It's possible that the line that feeds the ice maker might be clogged. You should be able to get to it by removing a few screws and pulling off the back panel of the fridge. Then you can check them out and remove the clog.

Admiral HMG 62163 water leaking internally & freezing in lower basket
good attempt, its actually a clogged drain thats backing up and your drain water is not able to leave refrig so it falls to bottom of freezer floor and eventually out the door. romve the items from the freezer and take the lower back wall off form inside, directly under the evaporator under all that ice there is a drain hole, youll need to clear that hole of iec( pouring boiling water down until you get a free flow of water then you can reassemble uint problem solved

Icemaker in Admiral side by side refrigerator/freezer stopped working
see if you can bleed the air trapped in the water line to the ice maker. if air is trapped, water would not be flowing and it would take only a few seconds for the solenoid to be open to let water flow.

see if you can hot wire the solenoid to let water and air out of the tube long enough to bleed the air and hopefully, the ice maker would work continuously.

Ice maker on Admiral HMG 62165 side by side
check the lever in the ice bin. if it is stuck in the up position it thinks the ice bin is full and will not make ice. Just wiggle it to the down position.
