PS3 using HDMI with Static Noise / Green Static & Grey Screen

I was in the middle of a game on my PS3 when static noise sounded and green static appeared on the my screen. It appeared to be interference cause the screen did completely go. Then a few minutes later same thing but the screen went dark grey for a moment then came back. I'm using HDMI slots on PS3 & LCD. Any suggestion on how to resolve?

SOURCE: xbox 360 showin black and grey specs on screen while playin

Unfortunately that sounds like a case of a 360's video card faltering - My suggestion is to locate your warranty ring microsoft and get a replacement.

Good Luck,

Blazamane.

SOURCE: PS3 static on screen

It sounds like you're carrying interference to your TV. Try moving you station away from any power source. Make sure your hdmi cable is away from any power as well. This may also be a ground issue. Plug your ps3 power brick into a different outlet.

SOURCE: My PS 3 has intermittent

It sounds like they told you to reset your video settings, here are the steps to do so again:
Make sure the system is off. Hold down the Power Button for 5-6 seconds - until you hear the second beep. That's it, your video settings are reset and you should be able to choose your input and configure it from there.

HDMI green screen

1-HDMI is available in several versions. The PLAYSTATION 3 is compatible with HDMI version 1.3 or higher, which will take full advantage of Blu-ray Disc™ high-definition video. There are also "Type A" and "Type B" connectors. The PLAYSTATION 3 uses the 19-pin Type A connector, which will allow resolutions up to 1080p.
The HDMI cable is not included with the PLAYSTATION 3. If you are using an HDMI to DVI converter, you may wish to remove this adaptor.

2- The resolution output (i.e., picture quality) of the PLAYSTATION 3 will depend on three factors:
The type of cable used and the inputs available on the TV or display monitor.
The maximum resolution the TV or display monitor can support. The PLAYSTATION 3 can output two types of resolution: HD and SD. Refer to the TV or display monitor's owner's manual to check which video modes are supported.
The maximum resolution programmed into the source material (movie or game). Refer to the software packaging for information on maximum resolution details or contact the publisher directly.

3- Try connecting with the supplied AV Cable instead of the HDMI to see if you can get a successful installation. This will help determine where the problem may be with your particular HMDI setup and/or equipment.

4- Disconnect any coaxial cables at the point closest to the television. Signals sent through coaxial cables may cause interference with the sound and picture outputted from the PLAYSTATION 3 which results in buzzing and humming noises from your display and speakers.

Audio Trouble hooking PS3 up to HD

Hi there, Have you checked that the HDMI Cable is inserted into both your PS3 and HDTV correctly ? if the cable moves about in the HDMI port that causes static sometimes ! Also check that your cable isn't damaged.

If the problem persists. i would just Use your Composite (Red,Green,Blue) connection from your TV to your PS3. you said it doesnt have static problems. and Using the composite cable you can still get the Full 1080p Resolution on your TV that the PS3 can Up-Scale to!

Hope this Helps ?!
