While watching tv - the colors went out of alignment with each other. What could be the issue? We have turned off and turned back on after 5 min
my rca 52 in has the same problem. but seems to not auto converge . and even when i manuel converge the screen is still looks like a 3 d movie.
i have tried every thing.. and its only a year old..
On this particular model when your convergence is out of alignment, and the auto convergence is suddenly missing from the TV's menu all together, there is a easy fix.
Diode on Main Power supply, Location dl321 and fuse at Location fl231.
This problem has a high failure rate.
I have replaced the fuse fl231 When I plug the set in, I get the power light on the front of the TV comes on and then in about 2 sec it goes off
Great Tip!, saved me a lot of time troubleshooting. I couldn't find the right part so I had to substitute a standard part. It would have cost me 95.00 just for the tech to walk in the door and it cost me 8.00 to fix it. While I had it open I realized the lens were filthy!, cleaned up and now the pic is like a new tv! Turned out to be the fuse in the center of the 3 next to the flyback. FL231
Convergence issues in this set are generally divide among three diffrent cuicit boards. THere are adjustment that can be made by service techs in service mode if that is problem. However if it is something electrrical it generaly take replacing on these boards. then a alignment process. All is dependant on which boards have to be replaced

Go to menu then setup look for convergence if it is missing on menu then you have a open FUSE/ FL231, But if you have convergence on menu then go into service mode turnTV off then PRESS and hold at same time ch- and vol- wait for set to come on then release TV should now be in Factory settings.

The model number of your TV probably falls under the ITC-222 chassis design. Do a search based on that criteria and it should point you in the right direction. If I remember right, you need to replace FL231 on the deflector board though. Good luck

Yes we have the same problem colors are out of line, Our tv is only 2 yrs old, it drives you nuts trying to watch the screen 52" ... We tried the auto convergance with no luck. We called RCA but there is no repair center in our area,, Please HELP

Same tv, same problem! Must be something about RCA. I've had this set only one year. I actually bought an identical one that would not even show a picture when I got it home. I returned it and got the one that's blown now.

I have this same problem. I had this tv for two years and it worked great, had no previous problems. I was watching it one day and I heard a little pop then the screen had curved from left to right on both top and bottom, so it was smaller in the center. Then I got three lines going across the top they were colors blue, green, and red. If I get this tv repaired, will I get this same problem, and if I replace the fuse at location fl231 and location dl321 will this fix my problem. Is this an auto convergence problem?
The centering convergence works (red and blue, horizontal and vertical) and the picture it normal in the center, but the picture bows out increasingly as it approaches the edges and the colors move from alignment in proportion to the bow. It looks like a 3-D fish-eye effect.
I need help, My Screen is not even 2 yrs old, and My three colors are separated, is there a way to see if i can manually adjust it.
RCA R52WH74 (ITC 222A) this set loses convergance, not only is the convergance lost, it also loses the adjustment setting from the menu (no convergance adjustment in the menu where it used to be)
I have the same TV and problem but I want to fix it myself. What do I need to figure out which boards are the right ones, test and replace the necessary one(s), and do the alignment?
