When I initialized the PS3 connected by HDMI to Sony Bravia Z series TV, all worked fine in playing back DVD. The next day when I turned on TV and PS3 and put in a DVD, I got a good video iamge, but no sound. I went through every menu i could find, but could not get sound back. Nothing else is hooked to either, as I don't have TV service.

My sound actually works fine for the PS3 title screen and for some games like "The Unfinished Swan". But when I launch "Bullet Storm" and "Warp" Sound is just gone. Tried chaning all kinds of sound options on both in game and ps3 options but no avail. Any ideas?

The audio drops out intermittently when played through Apple tv2. I have swapped hdmi leads, changed config settings, posted in support forums, all to no avail. I'm convinced it's an issue with this model tv and Apple TV 2. We had Apple TV 1 on it bit it burnt out Two doesn't work. Any ideas peeps?

I found this was the only thing to work....Go to sound settings, audio output settings, hdmi and instead of clicking automatic output click manual...I check every box under this settings and the sound came back...it say it might damage ur speakers but mines have been fine so far.

With some TV's if you have 2 HDMI cables pluged in then one may not work. If that is the case the just trying removing the HDMI to your TV while you are playing the PS3

Hmm.. Only HDMI socket one carries DVi, and that requires a seperate sound lead which goes into the 3.5mm jack input by the DVi input. I don't know about PS3's but my PC will only produce sound if connected to HDMi port 1 with Dvi sound to the jack. HDMi port two only carries sound through the HDMi cable.. which a Sky HD box produces. Try putting Sky through Port 2 and the PS3 through Port1 with Dvi sound. You never know, it might work ;o)

JVC LT-32DS75SJ issue with HDMI

Try this

1. Turn ON TV
2. Connect PS3 to TV HDMI input
3. select TV HDMI input for PS3
4. turn OFF PS3 if it is ON
5. Press and hold the [I/O]Power button until the PS3 until you get the "HDMI Detected" message.

Also, this TV has a circuit that deactivates the HDMI if the rear cover is removed. It is possible the HDMI may have been turned OFF. This is reset in the service menu of the TV.

Connect PS3 for playing/viewing blue-ray thru surround sound

I just finished setting up my system last night and was facing similar problems with sound/video from my PS3. The only option I could get working was to have the HDMI cable connected from the PS3 to the TV and then connect the Optical cable to the receiver for sound. I was under the impression that HDMI handles sound and video but for whatever reason the PS3 does not agree.

I have DTS sound and fantastic picture now through my PS3, hope this helps.

Cheers

LG 42LC2D-EC NO SOUND ON HDMI

your setting for source of the audio is probably defaulted back to original setting in receiver. reassign audio input and problem may go away. it sounds like its not in the tv. i assume you have a receiver and are not trying to listen with speakers in tv. is this correct? if you are not using an amplifier, you may need to go to the tv menu to make sure the audio source is selected as the hdmi input. should take a bit to read thru the manual, but it ought to show you how to accomplish the correct settings.
let me know if it does not.
good luck

Connect PS3 for playing/viewing blue-ray thru surround sound

Connect the PS3 to your TV with the hdmi cable and to the surround sound system with a digital optical cable, then set your PS3 to output sound through the optical port (through the sound options menu) and you're good to go!
