I have a ready heater 3500, and it is out of ajustment, it runs and burns, but it is not adjusted right, The cone at the front of the heater should glow but this one just barely gets red around the edges, Do you know how to set the adjustment screws for the air fuel mixture?
Most ready heaters have a fuel pressure setting on the back of the heater near the fan. There should be two small plastic covers, looking directly at the back, the one on the left can be removed and a pressure gauge installed. The one on the right is slotted for adjustment of pressure. I think the correct pressure for that model is 3.0 lbs.
I am a tech in buffalo ny the eye burning problem is a esy fix Flush the tankl an jet then it will run great

Can the heater be adjusted to get the fuel smell out all together, or is that just something that you have to live with ? I'm using diesel in my unit which is a lot better than kerosene, but it still has a smell. Thanks
i have a 175000 btu heater and i get a really bad feul odor and sometimes my eyes start to burn so i turn it off and leave how can correct the problem
First thing to do for a stinky heater not burning well is to turn it upside down and empty the tank into a bucket. It likely has an amount of water in it, which cools the flame and results in incomplete burning, which is why it smells and burns cool.
FYI, only no.1 diesel, no. 1 fuel oil, or kereosene should be used. #2 diesel is dirty fuel and will crud up your heater faster. Also, diesel gels in extreme cold.
