SOURCE: lawn mower stalls when engine is hot

first thing is to check that plug is not fowling up when hot due to motor burning to much oil.

What is the magneto gap for a 6HP Briggs & Stratton 12H802 series engine?

Briggs lists it as .006 - .010 on this 6 HP L-head engine. The .010 width can easily be attained by using a standard sized business card as a feeler gauge (and it doesn't stick to the magnets in the flywheel). I double up the card, loosen the coil and let the magnets in the flywheel draw the pickup legs in until they press on the card, tighten up the retaining screws (threadlocker is optional) and your air gap is set.

What is the spark plug gap for Brigg 875 series 190cc and how often should they be changed. Is a plattum plug any better

Set plug gap at 0.030 inches -- standard recommendation is to change plug every year. Few do that -- cleaning and re-gapping is what most do. Platinum plugs last longer...

Timing is off nedd to know what depth to set magneto at briggs and stratton 600 series lawn mower 190cc

the timing is fixed by way of woodruff key in the crank which locates into a chanel in the flywheel and is not adjustable. If you mean the air gap between the ignition unit and flywheel then set it to aprox .002-.005 inch
