Hello, there isnt much that you can do, there could be a number of problems. It could be a slight blockage somewhere from your drainage hoses to your pump. It could also not be spinning properly. If you want to drain the rest of the water out you will need to get your drainage hose and lay it flat on the floor to a drain, this will stop things getting smelly. You just may have to get a repair man in, I hope this helps.

Testimonial: "Works now. Thanks. There was an obstruction between the drain hose and the garbage disposal. I don't think the plug was left in; it was ok before."

The reason of dirty water in dishwasher is the clogged drainage. You need to do the cleaning of the dishwasher. It runs with electric, so be careful while cleaning, the machine can get damages. Is there any blockages in the main drainage line. You can contact drainage contractor fo help. Or if the main drainage is fine then the issue is in the GE Eterna Triton XL. Repair it or replace it.

Dishwasher drains but leaves behind about 1/2" of standing water

Water standing in the bottom of the tub is normal.
A small amount of clean water around the outlet on the tub bottom at the back of the tub keeps the water seal lubricated.

Soapy water standing in bottom not rinsing soap off dishes

It sounds as if it is not draining. Try to trace the drain line under the sink. Usually it goes into a disposall. The port where it connects to the disposall may be clogged. Another thought. If you had the disposall replaced recently they may not have taken the knock out plug out which would give the drain water no where to go.

Dishwasher did not drain out all of the water

run it again on the hot cycle...if that doesn't work...you have a clogged drain hose or a defective pump.

I have a GE PDW 8200 Dishwasher and there is standing water in the bottom of the tube. Why is there standing water after a complete cycle?

If it is older, the pump may not be draining the machine completely. The impellers, which is what acually moves the water could be clogged with yuck and could be cleaned if you can take the machine apart. If you call the repairman, he will likely replace the pump and motor.
