1.From your computer, access Device Manager.
For WINDOWS XP OS:
a. Right-click My Computer, then select Properties.
b. Select the Hardware tab, then Device Manager.
For WINDOWS VISTA OS:
a. Click Start -> in the Start Search box.
b. Type Dev (without pressing Enter); wait for a list to appear.
c. Click Device Manager.
d. Select View > Show hidden devices.
e. Select Printers.
f. Select Action > Uninstall.
g. Select Action > Scan for hardware changes.
h. Double-click the KODAK AiO Home Center icon.
If the error message appears again:
Set administrator rights for Home Center Software:
For WINDOWS XP OS:
a. Right-click the KODAK AiO Home Center icon.
b. Click Properties.
c. Click the Compatibility tab.
d. Clear all the check boxes.
e. Click Apply and OK.
For WINDOWS VISTA OS:
a. Right-click the KODAK AiO Home Center Icon.
b. Scroll down and select Properties.
c. Click the Compatibility tab.
d. Select the check box for Run this program as administrator.
e. Click OK.
f. Double-click the KODAK AiO Home Center icon.
If the error message appears again:
Uninstall the Kodak all-in-one printer drivers and home center software:
a. Disconnect the printer from the computer.
b. Open the Control Panel, then select Add / Remove Programs.
c. Select the Kodak all-in-one software.
d. Click Remove.
e. Click Next.
f. Select Remove, and click Next.
g. When the Ready to remove the program window appears, click Next.
h. When the Uninstall Complete window appears, click Continue.
i. Restart your computer.
j. Reinstall the software www.kodak.com/go/downloads
Try to unplug replug the usb cable of the printer.
You may also go to control panel printer and faxes and look for the printer of your 5300 now if you see 2 icons delete them both then exit to printer and faxes. and unplug/replug your USB cable then restart computer.
If this issue not solve try to uninstall the software and download the clearutility kodak.com/go/clear. then after doing this restart computer.
