Craftsman Model 139.53684: the lights on the key entry flash for about 10 seconds when I entry the code and press "enter." But, the garage door does not open or close with the keyless entry or remotes. It's OK with main opener inside garage.
I've tried changing the battery, changing the code, and using the SRT button on the opener panel. Nothing seems to help.

Make sure that when inserting the 9 volt battery that those red & black wires are not somehow pinched, twisted or stretched. I just fixed mine... The battery terminal was crushing one of the wires and preventing the battery to supply power to the keypad. I found it out by NOT securing the battery case door and my opener worked fine. Securing the battery case door with the screw and thightening, my opener DID NOT WORK. It was that simploe of a FIX!

On the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go you will find the smart/learn button. Press and immediately release this and then walk over to your keypad and key in a 4 digit code you like and press enter.

What you are asking for is not possible. You need to call a garage door repair technician. They will drill a hole through the door and using a special tool can pull the rope to release the door.
