I HAVE A CASIO 3054 WAVE CEPTOR WV-58A WATCH. It works great but when I have to change the time, I do not know how to do it. We changed to daylite savings time last week and in my attempts to reset it, it now is on a 24 hour clock with the wrong time zone. The Casio site has access to manuals, but it does not react to my entering my watch number, so I guess that manual is not available. Does anyone know where to find the instructions, or simply how to set the darn thing? It works great, but...
I tried following the link above and several other places to download the manual for this watch. The links all say the pdf file is damaged. I found that I could download the manual for the modle 3140 and it is nearly the perfect match for the 3054. The only differeance is the location on the face for the reception indicator and the mute indicators. The functions and setting them are all the same for both watches. Get the 3140 manual here: http://waveceptor.casio.com/resource/manuals/module_3140.pdf
I tried putting your module number in (3054) and was able to download the instructions.
Try the following link http://ftp.casio.co.jp/pub/world_manual/wat/en/qw3054.pdf . This was successful in finding the manual you require.
Good luck and a happy new year.
This watch is very easy to set, it just takes several (13) steps to do it. If you read through the procedure described below, you will see that it is very repetitive, meaning that you use the same buttons and procedure to set each item in the watch.
There are four buttons on the watch, two on the left side and two on the right side. These buttons are used to set the watch. See the attached photo, showing the buttons, labeled A, B, C, and D.
Button A puts the watch into the mode to set it (it's labeled 'Adjust')
1) Press and hold Button A until the watch beeps, and the text in the box where Day appears will begin to flash. This first item to set it the Time Zone.
2) Press Button D to move ahead, or Button B to move back, until you select your Timezone. Each press moves the timezone once.
3) Press Button C (the Mode button) to save the setting you just selected, and move to the next Mode.
4) The next Mode to select is whether you want the watch to automatically change time per Daylight Saving Time (DST). It will start by flashing 'Auto', which is self-explanatory. Pressing Button D will let you select either 'Off' (no DST time change), or 'On', which turns DST on NOW. After choosing your selection, press Button C to save your DST selection and move to the next Mode.
5) The next Mode will let you choose whether to display the time in 12H or 24H format. Press Button D to switch between 12H or 24H format. After choosing your selection, press Button C to save your time display selection and move to the next Mode.
6) The next Mode will let you reset the Seconds to zero. Press Button D to set the seconds to zero. Note that if the Seconds value is past 30 seconds, the watch will also advance the minutes to the next minute. After setting the Seconds, press Button C to save your Seconds selection and move to the next Mode.
7) The next Mode will let you set the Hours. Press Button D to move the Hours ahead one hour at a time, or press Button B to move the Hours back one hour at a time. After setting the Hours, press Button C to save your Hours selection and move to the next Mode.
8) The next Mode will let you set the Minutes. Press Button D to move the Minutes ahead one minute at a time, or press Button B to move the Minutes back one minute at a time. After setting the Minutes, press Button C to save your Minutes selection and move to the next Mode.
9) The next Mode will let you set the Year. Press Button D to move the Year ahead one year at a time, or press Button B to move the Year back one year at a time. After setting the Year, press Button C to save your Year selection and move to the next Mode.
10) The next Mode will let you set the Month. Press Button D to move the Month ahead one month at a time, or press Button B to move the Month back one month at a time. After setting the Month, press Button C to save your Month selection and move to the next Mode.
11) The next Mode will let you set the Day. Press Button D to move the Day ahead one day at a time, or press Button B to move the Day back one day at a time. After setting the Day, press Button C to save your Day selection and move to the next Mode.
12) The next Mode will let you set the Language. Press Button D to move the Language to the next available language, or press Button B to move the Language to the previous available language. There are a total of nine available languages: ENG, ESP, FRA, POR, DEU, ITA, CHN, PYC, and JPN. After setting the Language, press Button C to save your Language selection and move to the next Mode.
13) The next Mode will let you set the format for Month-Day. Press Button D to switch between the Month-Day and Day-Month formats. After setting the Month-Day format, press Button D to save your Month-Day format selection and move to the next Mode.
At this point, you will be finished, and it will be back to Step 1, for setting the Time Zone. Press Button A to exit out of 'Adjust' mode.
Generally, I skip past Step 6, to set the Seconds, because I have the watch automatically sync with the atomic clock, so at the next sync interval, it will be exactly correct. The watch is programmed to automatically attempt syncing to the atomic clock five times; at 12:00 Midnight (00:00h), 1:00AM (01:00h), 2:00AM (02:00h), 3:00AM (03:00h), 4:00AM (04:00h), and 5:00AM (05:00h). Once it synchronizes with the atomic clock, it will not attempt synchronization again until 12:00 Midnight the next day.
While in Timekeeping (normal) mode, Pressing Button D will show you the last time that the watch synchronized with the atomic clock. Pressing and holding Button D will immediately force the watch to manually attempt to sync to the atomic clock.
If you don't set the watch to automatically synchronize to the atomic clock, I suggest proceeding through all steps, and after completing Step 13, go back to Step 6 (press Button C until you reach the setting of Seconds, and manually reset the Seconds to a known time source (if you want the seconds to be exactly accurate).
