Icemaker freezes up and deposits ice at the bottom of the compartment. My icemaker seems to freeze up and stop producing ice while dumping the water to the bottom of the freezer compartment where is freezes solid; about a quarter to half inch of ice accomulates.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze and can't go where it's supposed to. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

My icemaker is not dumping the ice when it's frozen.

Replacing the icemaker is neither expensive nor hard. Order a replacement on the Internet.

Sounds like a malfunction in the icemaker itself.

Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

Whirlpool IceMagic Plus not working.

Pour about 2/3 cup of water into the ice maker . If it dumps the ice but doesn't refill , replace the ice maker . If it doesn't dump , and the cubes stay in the ice maker , replace the ice maker .

The switch on the icemaker for normal , runs the icemaker normaly . In the ice plus , a small fan comes on , blowing the inside air , over the ice maker mold , to help it freeze faster .

Icemaker does not fill with water

Pour about 1/2 cup of water into icemaker . If it freezes and dumps , replace the water valve ( the piece the wall water line connects to ) . If it doesn't dump after freezing , replace the icemaker . Also check the tube inside which delivers water into the icemaker to be sure it isn't blocked with ice . If it is , replace the water valve . Make sure the coils below fridge are clean of dust , lint , pet hair , etc..as this will slow ice production .

No ice

Pour about 1/2 cup of water into icemaker . If it freezes and dumps , the water valve is bad ( where the wall water line connects to the fridge ) . If it freezes and does not dump and the ice stays in the icemaker , replace the icemaker . Also check the fill tube ( the tube going from the freezer wall to the icemaker itself ) to see if it has frozen closed . If it has , the water valve is not closing completely , and letting a drop thru and freezing in the tube . Also an indication of a bad water valve .

Ice maker not producing any ice.

Pour about 1/2 cup of water into icemaker . Squeeze the black fill tub which is above the icemaker cup . If ice apears to be in it , this indicates that the weter valve is not completely closing , letting a drip ocasionally go thru and freezing inside the tube , ( water valve bad ) . that will be a different solution . If the icemaker dumps the cubes after freezing . and black tube is not frozen , replace the water inlet valve . If the icemaker does not dump the ice after frozen , replace the icemaker ( only 1 screw holds the icemaker in , located on rear portion on right , faceing down . Also check the icemaker rake , which should be about the 2:30 position . To thaw out the black tube (which runs thru the top of the refrig ) a 1/4 push on connector will be needed . Remove the icemaker and use a hairdryer aimed up into the hole . Cut the tubing to the fill tub behind the fridge about 9 inches from where it enters the top of the fridge . This will let warm air inside the top fill line to help thaw . Ocassionally blow thru the 9 inch tube until you can blow thru it . May take a day or 2 , depending how frozen the line is . Once air will go thru , install the push on connector to couple the cut lines back togather .

The blinking red light on the right side , is the receiver for the electric eye for cutting off the icemaker when the door bin is full , This blinking is normal . 2 blinks ...pause...2 blinks..etc .

Do not replace the filter if water flow is good thru the dispensor .

Icemaker fills with water..the ice freezes but does not dump.

I dont believe its too much water. You may have a problem with the heater not coming on. If your icemaker advances then the termostat is calling for it. The ejector blade would bounce from the 1 oclock to the 2 oclock position until the heater warms the mold enough to allow the ejector blade to push the ice out. If the heater is out I would replace the complete icemaker

Water seems to be flowing into icemaker fine. When I turn on the icemaker the water flows for a few seconds then stops, I have waited to see if the cycle to dump works and it seems as if it never attempts...

If your freezer temperaures are good i.e. it freezes ice cream and the like, then you need to replace trhe icemaker. Typically, under normal conditions, the icemaker would dump a load of cubes @ every 1-1/2 hours. Icemaker part number WR30x10093 @ $148.00 from Marcone Appinace parts or AP Wagner

Ice maker overflows

The Icemaker may not be dumping the cubes after they freeze then more water pours in on top of them. The icemaker has a heater which turns the cubes loose and allows them to dump. You may find someone to work on an icemaker, not sure. If this is the case, I would replace the icemaker.
